  1. Coolant problem will be clear a week from now once the dealer gets inside and find the leak. So far they can smell coolant and had to top it up but no drips visible so hard to know. My car is Turbo 2009 BTW. Leaking oil - left turbcharger TSB(2130). Dealer fixed once already but the bumper and wheel is still in oil and TSB says dont replace anything just tighten it up. P.S. airbag light that they fixed doesnt comeup anymore but seat belt buckle switch must be dead because even if the seat belt is "on" there is red light with a wonderful chime all the time now
  2. went to dealer, upgraded DME and airbag light is now gone. Will see if it stays that way. They have also upgraded PCM3 to version 1.40. In addition to that they found that coolant is leaking somewhere. Seriously, all this "quality built" by Porsche is total HS. How can a car with less than 15k miles have coolant leaking? This is on top of pump leaking oil (porsche claims it is normal except my front wheel is all in oil).
  3. thank you. wow, looked it up in PET - pricey. that is the CD that was sold by Suncoast i think but i missed it and they sell it no furhter.
  4. had the same issue the other day, light is on, connected durametric cable. error: driver side buckle switch or something like that. cleared error, light was gone only to be back 10 min later, repeated process and light is back on again. went to dealer, he looked up my vin (2009MY Cayenne T) and said that software on both car and PCM have to be updated !!! (i have been to 5 different dealers in last 6 months for various reasons and not a single sucker told me that there is an upgrade that has to be done). booked for next Friday, will post results
  5. i have gotten 2009 maps for PCM3. i am not sure if i mess up something if i put dvd into the unit. anybody has any experiene with this? some dealers told me a firmware on PCM3 has to be upgraded but to what version? i now have v.1.10. if there is firmware upgrade anyone knows part number?
  6. my logic is simple: Do you have storage for a set of tires ? If yes get good winter and good summer set. You are not loosing any money on tires as one has to change them every 20k or thereabouts anyway (so unless you change your car more frequently than tires you will use more than one set). M&S or all season a still crap in deep snow and will wear off faster in the summer. my driving is in hot summer and cold/snowy winter
  7. yes, went to the dealer today. the column has to be programmed to enable voice control button. P.s. on a separate note that function produces some hilarious results
  8. anybody knows how many keys is it possible to have for Cayenne 2009. i am thinking of adding a 3rd. (996 i remember had 4 positions. is it the same for cayenne?)
  9. Can anybody look up on a new part for marking for the type of plastic that is used for bumper lining (955.501.311.14) and upper part of front spoiler (955.505.061.10). I scratched mine and want to see what kind of repair kit i should get to fix it. Thanks in advance.
  10. you need to give more info if you want responce to a question. what is the year/type/config of your car?
  11. not correct. all controls will be the same as factory installed (we are talking here about PCM3 units)
  12. just for the record found on another forum that Cayenne 2009 (maybe even earlier ones) will display Service one year from the date that previous Service reminder was cleared or 10k miles whichever is earlier. P.S. why do i bother answer my own post? maybe someboody esle will have the same question. Judging by number of responces i got for this simple question i am the only one with 2009 car...
  13. It sounds you are not chasing this any further but any news on what the problem was as i have the same issue. not sure how to report this to Porsche I will now correct my statement above, reboot is not related to DVD being played. If fact i cannot find correlation to anything for this reboot. someetimes it happens 3-4 times in the space off 15 min. sometimes it works for hours without problem. no idea. dont even know how to report this problem
  14. I would respectfully disagree with you as I was just trying to get through moguls on parking lot in St Moritz. the only way to move was to put in low and lock
  15. there is absolutely nothing in my book about 3k miles service. there is something in the book about changing oil every 10k miles but the way it is written one has to wonder whether it applies only to: "Cayenne (V6): The multi-purpose display prompts for the oil change service*" all i can think of is that it said service at 3k miles now +10k miles says service (meaning oil change). If that is the case do I now have to go to the dealer at 13k, 20k, 23k, 40k, 43k ..? that is too much maintanance to put it mildly
  16. I have looked at maintanance checklists in this forum but still dont understand as my car first said Service at about 3000 miles (cannot rememebr now) and now it says service and there is 12k miles on the clock. it is not a problem warning as it started saying service in 1k miles, 0.5k miles etc etc. it also doesnt corresponde to any time intervals (manufactured in July, bought in August 2008). Any thoughts? nothiing in service boook about what needs to be done.
  17. Does anybody with PIWIS knows if there is a setting to enable push button on the trun signal stalk after retrofitting voice control? i have voice control functions on PCM on put new lever with button but pushing it doest activate anything. is there a setting that i have to do through piwis? thanks in advance.
  18. i realize i am doing myself a disservice by arguing with Loren and the manual but i just dont see a point of connecting charger if you are disconnecting PCM to plug the cable back. (it is cut off from power by definition). you would need charger to have pcm runnning without engine to programm the code but that will be done in a workshop anyhow as the person who asks question here has no piwis....
  19. The TSB has a couple of steps that refer back to the Workshop Manual. How to perform these steps are not described in detail in the TSB, but perhaps they will become obvious to me as I start poking around. Was wondering if anyone could answer some questions about these references, and whether the Workshop Manual is something available for purchase from Porsche. 1.1 Connect battery charger. Workshop Manual '2X00IN03 Battery trickle charging' - What is purpose of this step? 1.2 Remove PCM3.0. Workshop Manual '911019 Removing and installing PCM display and operator control unit' - Anybody have any guidance or pictures of this step? 1.3 Remove center console. Workshop Manual '681719 Removing and installing centre console' - Anybody have any guidance or pictures of this step? 1.4 Remove plug socket from center console. Workshop Manual '90581900 Removing and installing plug socket' - Anybody have any guidance or pictures of this step? Any guidance here appreciated. replied on other forum but anyhow 1.1 not required 1.2 pry trim from bottom, then four screws (all visible) easy 1.3 on caynenne there are two screwes next to ipod installation tray 1.4 dont need to do that if you twist consol as all you want is to get cable through from pcm to the tray p.s. once done go to dealer to input code into PCM not a DIY job unless you paid $$$$ for PIWIS
  20. That procedure only applicable if roof responds to switches. My roof was absolutely dead. Had to be reset with PIWIS What were the fault codes?.... dealer didnt tell me anything
  21. That procedure only applicable if roof responds to switches. My roof was absolutely dead. Had to be reset with PIWIS
  22. I have also seen 2009 maps for PCM3 models and in the catalog there is a new disk for each region. Not sure how the installation works
  23. I have now moved Nav-tv to the side. The problem is still there but I have confirmed that it relates to heating as it only happens after heating has been turned on for some time and only in the dircetion of feet (down). So you must be right that it has something to do with that air duct. I checked all connections - all fine. totally at a loss...
