  1. I'll head over to Kragen and find it... thanks. UPS just dropped off the box as I'm writing this. I opened it and found only the filter, no sensor. I guess I now have to call The Parts Bin and find out if I'm getting the sensor. Will keep you posted... Thanks, Nader
  2. Update. As I am waiting for UPS to arrive with my new MAF sensor and filter, I thought I would remove the old one. Of course, I just realized that I do not have the right screw bit to remove the 2 screws holding in the sensor. Anyone local, San Mateo, have this bit?? Thanks in advance. Nader
  3. Ok, update on the MAF for $159. I still can't get a hold of the company but the tracking number they supplied seems to track something that is arriving on Thursday. I'll keep you all posted. On a side note, changed my front rotors and pads on Saturday... very easy job  Nader
  4. I'll be at the next tech session; where do yo post the date? Also, I figured I'll be the ginny pig and order from www.carpartsteam.com even though I could not get them on the phone and Nat mentioned that the site is not secured. I ordered the $159 MAF (Bosch Air Mass Meter# B3130-70627) and filter for $23. I received an email confirming my order and am supposed to receive tracking numbers by tomorrow. I'll keep you all posted  Nader
  5. Nat, I tried to call them because I saw the same price. Their phone just rings busy, for the past two days. Is it the same MAF for $159.33? Nader
  6. Guys & Gals: Just called ThePartsBin and was quoted $300.80 for a '98 Air Mass Meter (MAF). Porsche #996.606.123.00. Do I have the right one? He said there was another one that costs more than $400 and requires re-calibration. I read the earlier threads and know there was some confusion as to which one the '98 takes. From what I understand, the '98 does not need to be re-calibrated. What happened to the $189 price? Thanks... Nader
  7. I'll be there for the next one; are they posted on the calender? Any recommendations on where to order the sensor from or is it just a dealer pickup? Thanks once again!
  8. Yes, thank you. Is the sensor the cause for both codes? I'm getting the new filter on Monday. I'll clean everything, as mentioned in your email, including the sensor then and hopefully the light will not re-appear.
  9. Yes, I can hear the air pump turn on in the morning. Is there a way to check the sensor? Is it possible the light was triggered due to a dirty air filter? The car is running great... Thanks! Nader
  10. Let me start off by saying thank you to Natzee for reading the copes on my car today... much appreciated!! So the 2 codes that came up are above. i have read previous threads and realize I may have a MAF sensor issue. Nat and I took off the air filter cover, and low and behold the filter was very dirty... very embarrassed I haven't changed it :cursing: Anyway, I'm replacing that ASAP. I was hoping anyone could also tell me what the code meant; are there more problems? I have been hearing my starter grind every 10 start-ups... maybe its going out? Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance, Nader
  11. Thanks, pictures are always helpful. I can't seem to find Nathan's post. So has anyone tried this on their own? Dealer charge? Thanks again!
  12. Ok, So I'm obviously not the only one that has this smoke issue. Tool Pants, is this a part that I can change myself? Order from the dealer I assume? I'm fairly competent; changed the serpentine belt myself.
  13. Yes, I heard that as well but it just didn't sound right. Quite a strange flaw... The part I was concerned with is that it seems to happen more often now and my engine light came on. I hate that **** light! Anyone in the San Mateo or bay area have a reader to read the code?? I just dread going to the "stealer". :help:
  14. I have a '98 Boxster. Almost every morning lately it has been spitting out white smoke from the exhaust? Sound familiar to anyone? help...
