  1. :( Called Griots and they stopped shipping to CA 6 months ago... I guess too much Alcohol in their window cleaning products... Is it really worth the double S/H if I have them shipped to a friend out of state and then they inturn ship them to me? If so, bang for buck Wipes or Spray/cloths? Paul
  2. ;) Thanks for the input... I'll pick up some Rejex online and try that. I have to figure out where to get some clay as well. Unfortunately due to CA Law they won't sell me the window cleaner from Griot's... Any other ideas? Paul P
  3. What's your favorite window cleaner (especially if you have tinted windows...) What's your favorite wax? What's your favorite clay? Where did you purchase them? Thanks :notworthy: Paul http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?&...CODE=12&CID=106
  4. I saw them on ebay for real cheap the other day... Just make sure that the S/H doesn't get you on the back end... I got mine from Sean Puno at Pioneer Porsche in San Diego (He'll often match prices & is a great resource for these kind of things...) He is currently looking for a good deal for me on painted bumperette's, side skirts and clear tail lights as well... Paul 1999 - 996 Artic Silver/ Boxster Red Coupe http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?&...CODE=12&CID=106
  5. Check out my post the other day it may help you... You can try to cut and paste this link into your browser or seach for it via my username or subject? http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2292&hl= Subject : "Anyone got an ODB in San Diego?, Orange check engine light ODB equipment?..." 6. :( Took it to Pioneer Porsche in San Diego and it turned out to be the mass air flow sensor or something .... Good news it that $615 later my car runs like a top... When I spoke with the service tech "Sean Puno" he said : The part was only $200-$300 but the labor resetting all the computerized air/engine/compression settings was what is so costly... Along with that they took two post installation test drives and re-adjusted the settings twice for optimum performance. I asked if it was my crazy driving or possibly the previous owner's fault, think poor upkeep, he said..."Nope, It just goes..." It wasn't you or anyone elses fault.... So then I asked him if I unplug the battery for 5+ minutes, would that turn of the light and/or clear the computer... He said no and that trick only applies to different year models... not my 99' Paul Let me know your thoughts... As I said before I am kinda naive as to this stuff.
  7. I live in SD and have a 99' C2, which just recently had the orange check engine light turn on... I went back and tightened all the caps "hand tight" and restarted the engine a few times and still no change. It seems to run fine, no leaks or fliud on the ground...but the light won't go away. One thing that I found odd was when you first turn the key one click to the right... normally the oil pressure guage counts down from 5,4,3,2,1...& then displays your oil level. I noticed after a few tries of turning the ignition off-n-on, the time changed to a 9:00 minute count down, to 40 second countdown and back to a 5 second countdown randomly.... I also hear clicking under my dash or in my trunck region when this is analyzing upon start up.... I must confess... I just bought the car and am an idiot when it comes to this stuff... I must also confess I was racing my friend's 2001 C4 last night up the 5 freeway to Del Mar... We never went faster than 102... but were doing a fair share of lets just say...."merging with traffic and the occasional down shifting into 4th..." thansk for your help... Paul
  8. I have on my 1999 C2 - 18" Chrome Turbo Style one piece rims and they work great... I was told by the seller that they are OEM and not a nock off brand, but like you I am kinda a newbie... This weekend I'll take a few close up pics and you can see what you think... I'll post them in my garage section of the website: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?a...CODE=12&CID=106 Paul
