  1. I'm considering picking up a pair of aftermarket racing seats for my '00 C2 coupe. I know I'll need the appropriate sliders/mounts. My question is wrt electronics. My current sport seats are fully manual other than the electronic recline. If I install aftermarket racing seats I know the recline function is a moot point. However I don't want to trigger an airbag light, so what do I need to do to connect the seatbelt receptacle's wire to the harness that sits on the floor under the car seat? Do I need to purchase another harness for the new seats so this connector can attach, or can the connector simply plug into the harness in the car? Of course I will assume/check the mounts have a 17mm threaded bung to attach the seatbelt receptavle to. The only thread similar to this that I could find by searching is below: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3749&hl= Many thanks!!!
  2. If the only fit issue is the hydraulics, then this could be good news for any C4S owner looking for a different decklid. I'd have to believe then that the factory Turbo Aerokit rear wing would fit (fixed wing) as well as any aftermarket fixed rear wing. The TechArt Street GT S rear wing I have sold (pending) would also fit. Wow.
  3. 'tis a stunning color! Didn't mean to hijack the thread, but I've always loved Arena Red since I first saw it on a 993 turbo. I too have the factory lits on my 2000. One worthy upgrade IMHO, but quite expensive.
  4. I don't know about the turbo to C4S. I have an aftermarket Turbo decklid at home, and all measurements seem identical to my 996 C2 coupe's except it is approximately 2" longer... the rear of the decklid is 2" longer than my decklid. I don't know if this makes sense. I can take better measurements if you wish.
  5. Oh, my wife calls it a bikini bottom. Underbody cover works too. ;)
  6. Are you getting a CEL with the cat bypass pipes? How hard is it to install/remove? Or if a shop did it, how much time do they quote and what was the charge? Thanks!
  7. Loren, Just picked up a set of the aerokit extensions for the rear bumper of my '00 C2 coupe (I'm not sure of the name- almost like fins that attach to the lower side of the bumper cover). Do you have any instructions on how to install? If I use double-sided tape, any recommendations on a brand/part number? Thanks!
  8. What sort of front bumper is that in the second pic? It's a pre 02 bumper by the headlights, looks like a GT3 type but with GT2 upper vents. I like it. Any more info on this bumper? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I like it too and have been considering having those vents cut into my front bumper. Does the MkI GT3/aerokit include a panel to direct air from the center opening to these vents? Does anyone know of a template to properly size and position the vents? Also, anyone know of the part number and/or where the lower lip can be obtained? It looks like 996 505 986 92 Thanks!
  9. I retrofitted a pair of sport seats in my '00 996. The standard seats are fine for most people. I found the standard seat back too constricting; my back was pushed away from the seatback, a quite uncomfortable experience. I installed a pair of sport seats and they seem to fit me better. The upper bolsters are tight against my sides, and my back actually rests on the seatback. The "batwings" do push my shoulders forward a bit, bit since both hands are on the steering wheel 90% of the time it is perfectly comfortable. They do provide more upper torso lateral restratint compared to the standard seats. I don't notice any differences between the lower seat cushions.
  10. Don't mean to hijack the thread- I have a spare too if anyone is interested.
  11. I went to my local Sears (Monkey Mall) as I needed a battery quickly - daily driver. They refused to install an Optima as their system said they were too tall! I finally buckled and had one of the Die Hards, as above, installed. $99 plus installation. This weekend I noticed they didn't even install the vent hose, so I'll stop by on the way home this week to have them install it properly.
  12. Guess who's battery died on Thursday? In the parking lot at a Sales kick-off event at my new job. Caught lots of s**t "poor new guy's battery died- in his PORSCHE" and all that... such is life ;) . I'll run out to Autozone this afternoon for a 47 of 48.
  13. I saw it in a recent 911 Maazine. Of course it is at home. It's a Ruf that he designed with the Americas in mind.
