thanks for all the advice. the winner is...... the pulley on the water pump sheared off. I just had the pump changed a year ago. they must have used cheap parts. -

i have a 97 boxster with 115K miles. today i heard a loud clunk like something metal fell from the engine, and then a bunch of lights went off on the dash. The powersteering stopped working and the engine slowly started to overheat. No smoke or steam and it still runs. any ideas?

when i lock the car with the alarm key, it locks, but then unlocks and horn goes off twice. what could it be?

Actually the interior lights have not been working. will check out the fuse. do you have any tips for how to get to it? thanks -
Hi Everyone, I have been reading the previous posts about the Alarm Box under the Drivers Seat, and don't know if my problem is due to this. I have a 97 Boxster where the door lock button on the key and dashboard don't work. The window buttons for going up and down also don't work. I checked all the fuses under the dash near the spoiler up and down switch. Could this be due to the Alarm Box? And if it is can it be changed without going to the dealer?

I too have had the same problem. My check engine light is on and the two codes that come up are P0410 and P1411. The description is secondary air injection system signal implausible cylinders 1-3 and 4-6. I'm just a college student and I have no clue what this means. I don't want to take it to the dealer if I can fix it myself. Any suggestions?

Does anyone have problems with smoke in the exhaust when you start the car. Then the check engine light goes off. Then after a couple of days, then the check engine light goes back on until the smoke comes out of the exhaust again. Any ideas? :help:
