  1. You guys think it's the resistor since only one side is working and the other side not working?
  2. What I see that if I have the AC on sometimes the fans will run on high if I just turn the car on after it's been sitting while the engine is still hot. Still driver side only works on high but doesn't always work. Also I notice that the after I shut the car down the fans won't kick on to cool it like they used to do not so long ago. Could this be a relay issuse?
  3. Ok I notice today that the car is running hotter then it normally does. I replaced the water pump a few months ago because it blew up and leaked all over the place. So today I notice that when the car is on the temp if I'm at the light goes to 180 at the end of the 0. So I got out to take a look and the passengers side fan is running only I think on the normal speed. The driver side not running at all even when I turn the AC on the driver side one sometimes it turns on full speed but goes off after a few seconds 30 or so. At that time I think the the passenger side fan runs at the higher speed too. Then the rear fan in the decklid does not turn on at all. I checked the fuses for the front ones and they are good. My question is what could this be? Also how does the fan relay operate? I'm thinking maybe it's the relay going bad but I'm not sure.
  4. What would be the best option then? I don't want the viberations to come back for a long time as I plan on keeping the car for a good amount of time. Just replace your existing mounts with new fluid filled ones. Solid mounts are going to transmit all of the engine vibration into the car. As a matter of general maintenance, I budget for motor mount replacement on any car I have that has more than 75K miles. That was a stupid question on my part about the solid motor mounts I didn't even think about it. Thanks for you information. Has anyone used the ones from ebay they are suppose to be OEM but not OE. For the price of one at my local dealer source with my shop discount I can get the set on ebay. I don't know if it's worth it. The job isn't hard to do unlike the ones on the 944 types which were a pain.

Has anyone every used the engine mounts they sell on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSCHE-911...sQ5fAccessories I don't want to buy something if I have to replace the mounts again in 2 years. That was the case if you ever bought some for the 944 type cars. I don't mind paying more if the ones from the dealer are better and last a lot longer. Any input on this would be great. Thanks
  7. 1. Place floor jack under engine and lift it up to support engine. Don't lift the engine or car, just hold the engine in place. 2. Remove engine airbox and secondary air pump for access to rear motor mounts. 3. Making sure that the jack has the engine supported, remove the nuts on the lower end of the motor mount that holds it to the engine rear crossmember. 4. On the top of each motor mount, remove the 2 bolts holding it to the chassis. Lift the old motor mount out of the chassis. 5. Install new motor mounts, bolt the mount to the chassis first, then install the lower nut and torque it to 67 ft/lb. 6. Remove floor jack. Done. Thank you mate. That will help out and it looks very simple to do.

  9. Thank you! So it looks like Porsche had greenish and yellowish coolants. Looks like I will be safe mixing the pink stuff in.
  10. Ok I thought they did that. Do you know the color of the old Porsche coolant. Mine is an 1999 so I'm sure they changed it after that. Thanks
  11. Ok I ordered a gallon of coolant from Porsche it's like pinkish in color. The coolant I have in my 99 911 is like clearish with green tint. I know mixing coolants is bad. It's an 1999 911 and as far as I know the coolant hasn't be flushed out that I know off. I'm changing the coolant bottle right so I need to get some information on this. Did Porsche use the same type of coolant? and changed colors later on?
  12. I have a small leak coming from that area. It looks down and onto and off the exhaust pipe/tip on the driver side. It's an 99 so I'm thinking it's cracked but would that be the area it would leak out onto the ground? Only does it when the car runs really hot and for quick short drives when the engine doesn't heat up fully it doesn't leak.
  13. Any more information on my question above? Are they on the passengers side? I have a leak there.
  14. Is that what could be leaking on my car. On the passenger side. I haven't removed the heat shield but if that's the possibly I might as well order the o-rings and take a look at it.
