  1. Tank is ok, but Yes I did suspect that maybe it could be the Cap, Thanks for the replies.
  2. Thanks, It came from the expansion tank, and was clean. It basically emptied the Tank out.
  3. Hi all, our 2002 Boxster puked out lots of coolant from the reservoir after being driven, It wasn't running hot before this happened and after refilling it seemed fine, any suggestions as to why it might do this? Thanks George
  4. Hi all, recently purchased an 02 Boxster with a 3.4 conversion, the Shop that did the work did not reinstall the dipstick, it has the factory level indicator on the dash so we do have a level indication, but I would like to have the Dipstick working as it should, just wondering if anyone who has experience with this conversion could fill me in on whether there is a reason why this can not be done, also if anything other than the stock tube and associated parts are required to make it right? Thanks in advance! George
  5. Can the chain tensioner pads be replaced without removing the Trans & or Engine?? Thanks in advance
  6. The Escort 9500 is one of the highest rated of the "portable" detectors, there are a couple of good sites with good info on them to help make a decision, Google Best Radar Detectors and/or Radarbusters.com, if you get one also get the hardwire installation kit, It's easy to do and looks way better.
  7. Thanks for the help guys, I'll see if I can sort it out!
  8. I have a little problem, the oil pressure gage on my 02 996 Targa will sometimes just drop off line then come right back up, it appears to be an elecrtical problem rather than mechanical, just wondering if anyone else has seen this, and also where the sending unit on the engine is located, in order to start troubleshooting this, or any other advice that would help. thanks, George
  9. Thank you for the info. I'm in the Bay Area and am not sure what kind of "wheel shop" you mentioned. We have tire shops here, but pretty sure they don't sell extensions. Do you have a picture? Hi , I don't have a picture but all that they are is a tube extension for the valve stem, if you show your wheel to a tech at any quality tire or wheel store and tell them what you want they should be able to help you out.
  10. Hey,a question for those in the know, I installed a shift link and B&M short shift in my 02 996 C2 as per instructions on this site and B&M, did the shift link first using Toolpants well illustrated guide (thanks), but when I inserted the shift cable end into the new shift link it reached the bottom before the mark on the cable was reached. My question is has anyone else had this happen and how did they deal with it? By the way I installed it this way and drove it with the stock shifter and the B&M, it seems to work OK? Will take it for a longer drive to check it further when (if) the weather clears up. Thanks in advance. George
  11. Hi there , I have similar HRE wheels, you should be able to get an extension from any good wheel shop I have both plastic and metal ones and both work well
  12. Hi, it's a puddle not a drip, if it was a drip I wouldn't have been too worried,it is maybe 2" across, the floor was dry before this as well, although when I looked under the car you could see that there had been some seepage there.
  13. I read as much as I could,It's a lot! but was hoping that as it seems to be a factory flaw Porsche would maybe step up and help out. Thanks
  14. Hi, this is my first post here,I have been looking through this site for a couple of months, it is great ! full of excellent information, here is my problem/ question for those who have been there. I took my car a 2002 C2 Targa out for a drive yesterday, the first good weather around here for a long time, anyway, I went to the garage this morning and there under the engine is the dreaded puddle of oil,I lifted the car up and took a look,it appears to be the RMS leaking as discussed on so many other threads on this subject.I called around to 3 dealers in this area 2 in the U.S. and 1 in Canada, and all said that Porsche would not stand behind their product if it was off warranty, the car only has 25000 kilometers, 15000 miles on it, just wondering what others experience has been with this, as it seems to be a recurring problem, has Porsche stood up and done the right thing? or do they leave you on your own to fix what is obviously a design flaw. Thanks in advance for your help.
