  1. leather glove and 9 inch flat blade screwdriver. use the glove to protect the paint. after you remove the screws the only thing left is a ball and socket connector. It takes carefully applied pressure on the screw driver. about 1 third the way up slide the blade behind the lens and while holding the lens, lean on the driver with your hip. Apply steady pressure but do not jerk it as you WILL crack it. Lean on it using body weight increasing pressure slightly until it pops out.
  2. Turns out that its not to difficult, mine is now housed in the spoiler with the rest.
  3. I had the same mileage out of mine, twice. now I am trying the Scorpion all-seasons which are cheaper, to see if they wear better. I have seen no real difference in ride or handling thus far.

  5. I fitted a kit designed for the TReg, my rennlist gallery has pictures of the process. You can buy the parts for less that $200, its only rated at 6000Lb's but that was enough for my needs. The hardest part is getting the electronic control unit in, and the car programmed to recognise it has a tow kit. In the end I saved about only $500 because I had to pay the dealer to do that. You do have to cut the rear skirt to allow the carrier out and the electrics in. Not a big issue.
  6. Thats Porsches problem, its a wiring issue. I did some tests and I hear no noise from the pumps.
  7. Not the ground which would effect everything, more likely the antenna connectors not on right, this could happen in manufacture as they pushed it in. These are weird little things which once on properly should stay but having played witht them I can see why it might happen.
  8. I would say that you have a problem in the diversity system, some ground connection allowing pickup from car electronics. OR one of the connections (2) on the back of the PCM have come off. My bet is the PCM connectors. Pictures on my rennlist gallery
  9. Its really quite easy, but you will need the lightweight bumper fitted to non hitch cars. I have mine if you want to swap. Sequence 1 - remove rear lights 2 - Remove rear Bumper cover 3 - Remove Hitch Bumper 4 - Replace with LW Bumper 5 - Replace Bumper Cover ( you might need a new valance with no hole in it) 6 - Replace tail lights Some useful pics Getting the rear lights out is the hardest part, without cracking them. They are held in place with 2 screws and a ball connector. The 2 screws are behind blanking plugs you can see when the tailgate is open. I used a long thin flat bladed screwdriver and a leather glove to protect the paintwork. With the screws out the lights will move, but to get them out of their ball socket go around the side of the car, use the leather glove to protect the paint, slide the drive in behind the light about a third the way up. Now this is not a brute force thing, its a gentle force over time. I leaned on the handle while holding the drive with one hand supporting the light with my other. Keep firm pressure on but do not jerk it just keep steady pressure until it pops out. Undo the light connector and thats it. The bumper cover has a bunch of torx screws underneath and around the wheel arch, including one hidden underneath the wheel liner Once these are all off the cover will slide rearward and off. (I think I remembered everything) I used a jack to support the bumper, its very heavy, the replacement is easily held in one hand while you put the screws in. There you go.   10. I am not sure you would be able to add a stock one I think its part of one of the comfort packages, what options do you have ? There is switch power in the overhead console, I have not seen this question asked before.
  11. Not so, when you burn an MP3 it converts it back to regular CD format. You should be able to get about 300 on a CD if its mp3 format, bet you cannot !
  12. Well I got some .pdf's from Toby, that, with the TSB showed me how to fix the sat antenna into the rear spoiler. Its a bit difficult to understand but after a couple of tries I ran the cable ala Porsche instructions, down into the rear left side bin area in the trunk, then around the edge of the carpeted trim and under the rear seat where my tuner is now mounted. Sirius sounds great, but I am not finished yet. The warm weather only lasted a day so its going to be a while until I get all the front cables buried. More to come Mike Mike <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  13. Mine is a Panasonic, with no gain control. I would suspect that that may be the problem, there is always some noise, but if you amp it, it will only make it worse. I would go with zero gain and adjust using only the iPod volume and headunit.
  14. What do you mean "adjust it", you cannot adjust an FM Modulator. Are you perhaps using an FM Transmitter ?
  15. no sorry. XM addon may be possible this year, may be to expensive.
  16. Read the manual please. When it gets cold this is always going to happen, its to help warm the cats up fast. Do not try to push it hard when this happens, let it change to 2 first.
  17. the quality is "near" CD quality. The hard wiring into the antenna circuit removes 99.0% of the FM transmitter woes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  18. A TT will be heavy on oil for the first 5-6K miles then reduce substantially.
  19. Glad they worked. I liked their tips because I did not want to change the rear valance to the turbo one. Mike
