  1. I used a plastic pic to lift the site and and then a pair of pliers bend it. The crest is not metal it is a soft alloy. you need to bend it slowly and must use caution and patients!!!! once it was bend in the middle i used the dremel and cut the rivet and VOILA!!! Be very careful because the airbag cover might scratch and you will se the ugly black plastic under it. As far as getting the crest check out EBAY they have some good quality pieces and the sellers are Porsche owners. Some fit exactly in the airbag slot and some go over it. Good luck!!
  2. Yes!!! The CREST on the Airbag of all Cayennes is not glued!!! It has a rivet in the center attaching to the airbag cover. I took a chance this week and removed mine and replaced it with a silver/titanium and it looks great. I had to attached it with a 2 part epoxy and there is no way to come off!!!
  3. Hi There, any tips removing the crest from a Cayenne airbag? how did you remove the crest on your friends 996? can you share any info? was the crest glued to the airbag cover or riveted, thanks kostas
  4. Any tips for removing the Porsche OEM crest from the steering airbag of a Cayenne 04/V6?. It got damaged by the seatbelt!! I dont want to buy the Airbag.
  5. Has anyone noticed on a 2004 Cayenne V6 when you move you shift from D (drive) to R (reverse) the R gear in not engaging? When I shift from (D) Drive to ® Reverse my gear box light ® lights up indicating that the gear is in reverse the instrument cluster display shows my gear is in N neutral and my baby will not back up because is in neutral. In order to engage the R reverse i need to shift a bit forward between the P (parking) and the R (reverse) in order to engage and lock into position the R (reverse). I am taking in to check it out. your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks Kostas
  6. I just found out that the back window of my 04 Cayenne opens up during low temps (-5 to -15). I contacted the dealer and they told me they had over 30 calls in the last 5 days for the back window opening and will not close tight (it closes but it rattles and the warning light comes on and interior lights stay on) The problem is the sensor that is installed in the rear window windshield wiper is seciptable to low temps (here in New England we had temps around -20 F the last 2 weeks) and the sensor craps out. Porsche USA has a back order of them and will not be available until Feb 16. Until then stand by!!!! I thought I would share this info. Regards, Kostas
  7. Just got off the phone with the Porsche dealer and the news are that they have to keep the car for another day (day #5) The answer I got is incompatibility between the CDR23 deck the controller and the AMP some kind of software glitch. Waiting direction from Porsche USA Tech Support to fix the glitch. Until then I am on stand by!!!
  8. My 2004 V6/3.2 Cayene went in to the Porshe dealer for a few recals and a problem with my sound system, Intermitent audio failure. I dont have PCM just the regular CDR23 single CD AM/FM Radio with the Bose sound speakers. This is the second time in 6 moths that the car went in for the same reason, first time changed the AMP and I was told that was the problem, six months later here we go again same proble. The deck displays everything but no audio comes and goes!!! The car is in the Porshe dealership for 4 days and are waitting for technical assistance from Porsche USA. Has anybody experience this problem? Thanks in advance. Kostas
