  1. As stated dissengage anti roll bars, only works in low range and makes interesting noises when activated. Had it on my last CN, never used it in anger but for serious offroad stuff guess you would need it. It's fully detailed in your handbook how to use it. Whats not in the handbook is the seperate hydraulic system top up point, open your rear hatch and on the left there is an upper plastic trim, lift this off and you have a hydraulic top up point and long dip stick.
  2. motoadve, best if you get a Durametric tester or go to you OPC and get a scan. From experience faults like this are very hard to diagnose without a scan. I too had a Air Suspension fault and at the same time a PSM fault. Everything worked OK with the car just that the beeps on starting and the constant yellow ! was a pain. A scan indicated a pressure sensor but without access to Poses it hard to go any further. After mucho scrathing and a search of Poses (the Porsche version of Ektra, available on ebay) turns out it was the small pressure transducer on the brake master cylinder (So still don't know why it gave me an air suspension fault and a PSM fault together), fix was a £30 sensor and a full brake bleed. Still after that decided to buy the Porsche extended warranty, then guess what, nothing goes wrong with the car. Good luck with your problem
  3. I had a similar problem, looked at the TSB and thought a little OTT. However by accident I solved the problem. With a bit of luck you too may be the victim of the dodgy Tyco connector. The TPMS control box is located just above the drivers footwell to the side of the steering column. (my car is RHD, should be the same of a LHD). the box has a single multiway Tyco connector with a locking cam. If you have a close look at this (the control box is a push fit in its housing, carefully pull it out) the locking cam (the purple bit) spigots break off and allow the connector to come loose with various contacts breaking connection or causing poor connections. You can buy a new connector body or devise another method of retaining the connector in the module (a small tie wrap works fine). Since I did my one never another problem Good luck
  4. Can anybody help me out, Cayenne S MY05, looking to locate terminals 15, 30 and 31 and find out what they are. Many thanks
  5. I have just updated to the 08/2007 DVD from the 2006 one, (and yes the 2008 update is in fact a 2007 disk !!!!!) in addition to the DVD I also got 2 software update CD's, one was for updating to level B software (000 043 205 47 002, I didn't need this one) the other was to update to level C software (000 044 901 40), the one I needed. The instructions said that once you do the update the unit will only read 08/2007 and upward DVD's, tried the old 2006 and as it said it didn't read it but reads the new one OK. As you have the 05/2007 DVD I would guess your PCM wouldn,t read it if you did the update or anything earlier unless you get the 08/2007 disk Files on 000 044 901 40 Files on 000 043 205 47 002 The files are only about 12MB in total, don't mind doing an ISO of the disk and posting it for you on a FTP site, but take no responsibility for it not working and stuffing up your PCM Regards John
  6. Welcome to the forum You may want to check out the following thread before you plug the VAG-COM into the Porsche 16215 , I got the Durametric in the end and well satisfied with it, (also sold the VAG-COM to the son who is well into his Seat) Take care John
  7. Steve Sorry to hear about your problem with the PCM and duff dealer, not sure if it will help but try the following web site http://www.mybecker.com/beckerCms/www_root...3&navSeq=91 Regards John
  8. Just done the upgrade myself, problem is the HID ballast is only 35 Watt, normal bulbs are 50 Watt, the systems measures the current in the light circuit and is expecting to see 4 Amps, but with the HID Ballast it only sees 3 amps. Solution add a 10 Ohm 20 Watt resistor this bumps the load up to 49 Watts and hence the car thinks all is hunky dory. The techi bit Circuit Volts______Current(A)_______Resistance_______Power(W) ____12____________4.166___________2.88____________50________Standard Bulb ____12____________2.91____________4.11____________35________HID Ballast ____________Add a resistor in parallel 10.0 ____12____________4.12____________2.91____________49________HID Ballast + 10 Ohm Resistor Hope this helps, and remember the resistor will have to loose 14W of energy in the form of heat, so position in a safe place John
  9. OK I have an 05 Cayenne S, with air suspension etc. I already have automatic headlight leveling (no adjuster fitted on dash), guess this is because I have air suspension. How easy would it be to fit OEM Xenon units, what I need is a wiring diagram for both types and see what is involved. Can anyone help?. One thing I have determined is I am a fuse short in the left hand fuse box, what does this fuse do, supply a direct feed to the headlights? Any help would be appreciated, wiring diagrams even better if anyone has them. Looking for a winter project and this seems a good one. Thanks
  10. Thanks for that, will put it back in its box and loose it in the loft, guess there isn't an equivelent of VAG COM for Porsche
  11. Interesting one for comment, previous car was a VW so had invested in the vag-com HEX-COM tool some time ago, having a few moments spare thought I would check to see what would happen if I plugged it in to the diagnostic port and tried to read some modules, result! managed to read modules 01, 02 and 31, tried a few others at random and no success, but on the modules I could read I had full access (engine and transmission), this included all the read data (rpm, gear select, O2 etc etc), also had access to adaption settings and coding settings. In addition using the ODB tool within vag-com could check and clear any DTC's (didn't have any :) )Has anybody else tried vag com on their Porsche and had any more success at reading modules?
  12. Its a Piezo quartz buzzer http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Module...zer&doy=1m9 Hope this helps
