  1. That was my plan for next weekend - take the sensors out and test to see if the wheels are connected together in a loop... All four sensors are ok, but getting all the wheels off in one operation requires hardware I haven't got at home. I may pass the problem on to my dealer, as the car will need a service next month anyway!
  2. I'll have a look for it one evening this week... what colour is the cable I'm looking for? I know its black/brown at the 21 way connector at the back.
  3. well, no ABS warnings and the ABS is working ok, not sure where the ABS unit is - its it easily accessible? This must just be a broken or disconnected wire somewhere. I know it goes via a 21way connector near the DME unit, but the wires around that area look ok.
  4. Are you sure it is the pad wear warning and not low fluid warning? The dash says "service warning brake pad wear" or similar. Brake fluid level is ok, as I checked that when doing the pads to make sure I didn't have too much!
  5. I have a 2003 UK spec Boxster S. My brake warning light came on when on holiday, and as my font pads were relatively new, I assumed the rears were at the limit. So I ordered new pads and sensors, fitted them today, but the old pads were not worn down to the sensors. I've now checked all four sensors, and all pass a current, and all seem to be plugged in to their sockets securely. Where else can I check, as it looks like the circuit is broken somewhere else?
  6. At ten years old, even with the new arms, I suspect it won't be completely free of play. Its been aligned by a local Porsche specialist and is in the middle of the Porsche tolerances. I am tempted to try 17" wheels and narrower tyres.
  7. You cannot go too small on the wheels because they will not clear your brakes. This is part of my problem - the alignment guys say "its within spec"
  8. Tyres are almost new, though I do have different front and rear - Pirelli front, Michelin rear, as the Pirellis are no longer available. However, it was exactly the same with the Pirelli rears - they weren't worn, they were replaced due to damage.
  9. My 2003 Boxster 3.2s has 18" wheels. It's done 85000 miles. I've had all four suspension control arms replaced, and the alignments are all within spec. I live in rural Oxfordshire (uk) and the roads are quite rough. The car is very sensitive and follows every rut, camber, and even prominent white lines can be felt as pushing the car around. My daily driver is a diesel Skoda, and on anything other than super smooth wide roads, it's will get me there faster than the Boxster. I'm not sure where to go next: should I try smaller wheels (I used 16" on my 964) or is this something that can be fixed by suspension alignment, I'd so, what should I alter, and how?
