  1. Looking to upgrade the front brakes on a 987 Boxster. Does anyone know an easy route to upgrade to Boxster S brakes? Are the hubs the same between Boxster and Boxster S? Are the calipers the same, same piston sizes? Could one be so lucky to only need Boxster S rotors and S caliper mounts? tks
  2. Had one of mine pop out yesterday and I was able to reinstall it. I found it easier to glue the little metal spring back onto the black 'fang' piece first. The black 'fang' piece has the fangs not centered, I placed the piece so the fangs are towards the top. Once that is dry, I centered the vent and place the 'fang' piece onto the center horizontal louver, moved the vertical louvers a little bit and with the aid of a small screw drive walked the fang piece into the back of the vent control. I then used a piece of clothes hanger wire that I place a "U" shape bend in the end of it, to push the 'fang' piece back into the vent control from behind.
  3. If your interior is black ... I messed up my mirror lids also, I used some black shoe edge dressing to touch up the areas on the lids.
  4. It has been reported that Porsche has changed the PCCB rotor to increase it's cooling 30%. It would be nice to know also if any sort of batch or serial numbers can be found on the rotors.
  5. Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the different versions of the PCCB rotors? Does anyone know of any special markings, part numbers, or serial numbers on the PCCB rotors?
  6. So does anyone know of a third party software company that can reprogram the gas shut off in the DME. Because you can not left foot brake an Egas car like the GT3 hear in the US and the problems with the PCCB makes me strongly think of putting my GT3 up for sale. If you can not left foot brake a car that is designed for the track by Porsche then they have missed it. One needs to be able to check his brakes on the the track.
  7. As to the 'Michelins' I'm not sure if I like them. It's hard to feel them out, as where the limit is on them. I would say greasy when I first picked up the car. I'm not 100% sure on this but I think they are coming around some, still not sold on them. As to EVO saying understeer, I'm not 100% sure if I would agree to that, oversteer in sweepers yes and softening the rear bar on my car has helped this.
  8. I have felt the same thing in my GT3, the car feels a bit of oversteer at neutral power, mine will turn down into the sweeper corner/oversteer and sometimes if a bump is in the sweeper of a turn the car will move up the turn after it hit the bump. What I have done to what appears to me to have reduceed this is to soften the rear sway bar. Mine came with both bars set at one hole from full stiff. So in the rear I moved the bar one hole further away from full stiff, so it's in the third hole not the second from full stiff. The other thing I did was set the tire presures to factory cold settings of 32 front and 39 rear.
  9. The 2004 GT3 wing requires the used of adapters to set the angle of the rear wing. The set contains 2 pairs of adaptors; two adaptors 4° and two adaptors 8°. Anyone have the part number for this?
