    Hello, I'm looking for a little help on a knocking sound coming from my 2000 2.7 5-speed Boxster. The car has 62k miles on it and just had an oil change about a thousand miles ago. The car runs fine but I have noticed a couple of times this past week there is a knocking sound once the car is fully warmed up. The noise does increase with engine speed, however it seems to come and go. Any ideas? Thanx in advance, Aaron

    No way I would take this car back, You bought a BRAND NEW CAR with what you were told was a scratch that could be buffed out. They went and re-painted it without telling you. Demand they buy it back and buy one from their nearest competitior. It is damaged goods, F them, your in the lo$er seat from day one. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, TOTALLY SHADY, even if it was a KIA. Best of luck, keep us posted.

    What will those crazy Canadians think of next?! But who can argue with their 3000+ easily fooled ( I mean happy customers)! I think putting a torn in half beer can in my cars intake is a great idea, money well spent. :D

    Hey guys I don't chime in much (but I do drop in EVERYDAY for a read) and I think you may have got off track on this one. The poor guy is worried about a rattle when he starts his beloved P-Car in the morning. So I just want to say ALL 3 of my 9X6 cars have done this, none have ever leaked anything, died, fell apart, or ever left me hanging in the very extreme temps. in Milwaukee (0ish,now to 90ish summer). More importantly, I think (know), I read a post here about this being some kind of air punp or emissions pump making the noise when the car is started cold.

    I had mine come on my first 2000 Boxster, dealer diagnosed it as a faulty buckle or some kind of resistance to the buckle, then charged me around $300 to replace it (the buckle). Anyway, it seemed fishy that I was paying to fix a defective safety part on a car that was barely out of warranty time wise, it was WAY under on miles. Anyway, give them a little pressure and see if it can be fixed under warr. or good faith since it seems to be a common problem. Seems to me safety problems should be a no charge fix at any point in a cars life. We can't buy a new one if the last one didn't save us in an accident. ;)

    I had my check engine light come on a couple weeks ago shortly after driving through a large puddle of water, I had it checked the only code was 1128, which deals with one of the o2 sensors. It went off by on it's own but came on yesterday after I went through the touchless car wash. Could this be moisture related? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I had the Conti's on my first Boxster, really liked them, they were quiet and had good traction in both rainy and dry conditions. Also, I think they had a little lip that stuck out to give the rim some protection. My 996 C4 Cab had the Pilot Sports and they had great traction even as the rears wore out, noise level was low too. My current Boxster has P-Zeros and they are loud, cupped and I can't wait to get rid of them, I'll probably go back to the Conti's., hope my 2 cents helps.
