Loren or anyone,
When I bought my car, it didn't have the PCM 1 manual. It would be nice to have. Anyone have this in PDF format? The "Porsche Manuals" section is pretty complete, but no PCM 1.
Thanks,
Darren

What kind of options are there for PCM1? I would be happy to help with any testing you need.

Let's call Mythbusters.

I don't have PSM and would like to see that diag too.
Thanks!

I did. Let's talk about it "out loud" so other people can benefit.

gapper = $.99 at <your favorite auto parts store>
Better to check than have the engine not get the proper spark.

Curious:
What would happen if I disconnected it? CEL? Bad for engine? Rough engine until warm?

Congrats on the car, it looks awesome! Well worth the wait?
There is a popular shop that does custom systems for Porsches. Car Audio Innovations.
If you call Rob there at 1-800-892-6430 he will be happy to discuss your needs. He can sell you a box that will fit nicely. Check out some of the installs on their web site. Not sure if you will get your 12" in there, but he has done an 11". You will have to talk to him.

What is the X73 kit?

I got the Digimoto software. It runs on my laptop and got the PocktPC version too. I bought from an eBay auction they had going.
Worked for me.

I get charged for an hour diagnosis for the horns not working. They (OPC) say my horns are bad.
I take my car to an independent for another problem (long story, new engine when it was all over (rod bearing)). When I get the car back the horns work! I asked them what they did, they said “replaced the fuse”.

How did you get your car to levitate?
Very nice, how do you keep the underside so clean?

Possible reverse lights problem:
The reverse switch screwed into the top of the transmission has been known to fail. Mine did. It is a cheap part to replace.
I pulled mine out, connected the plug to it and tested the pin switch by pressing on it with my finger. The reverse lights worked. Put it back in the car, no worky. The reverse engagement mechanism isn’t pushing the switch all the way.

Any more noises?
I just started getting this clunk - clunk - clunk sound from the engine, next to the right rear wheel (not exhaust). I was about 100 miles from home on the coast.
Cold idle was a bit rough. Almost seems as if one cylinder is missing. No CEL.
I get home without any problems. The engine sounds smooth, however there is a burnt rubber smell coming from the engine. Not a clutch smell, I know what that smells like.
I reach in and touch the belt and it is not warm. The conditions were wet.
56600 miles on the engine. 6 months ago I had a coil and oil bellows replaced. Oil lever looks good.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Darren

Your probably right...
Sounds like this may be more hastle than it is worth to have Eric paint them too...
What do you think Mitty?
Paul
I agree. However, if I wanted a few things painting (center/rear console for example), it might be worth talking to Eric.
