  1. I can tell you from personal expeience (I was a Porsche service manager) That at christmas time i would get 12 packs of Warsteiner  some barcardi :welcome: and other items like gift certificates  I gave all my customers great service and my csi proved that, but when the gift giving people needed a little more I would gladly give them that extra special favor. I had one customer that would cater lunch for the whole service department
  2. the Baum i-Scan with porsche software will reset the SRS,ABS,CEL,EGS lights, if your friend has the ottoscan that is just for the check engine light
  3. the Baum Tools scanner will also reset your light. You did not say where you are located
  4. If your car did not get the Porsche Pre Owned inspection done correctly PCNA will be all over them. these motors are based on the 964/993 style bottom ends and do produce some cam chain noise. The whirring sound would have to be heard to tell. remember PCNA is the warranty behind a Porsche pre owned and they don't like to be jacked around by dealers
  5. 97 Boxster, white smoke cel? say hello to a new engine, these had cylinder sleeves that gave out. you can try leaning on PCNA but they are running out of "good will". :help:
  6. The window problems are related to the latch switch for the top hook. a new switch is needed there. some other top problems are solved by replacing the top control relay, there has been a few updates to that part. a lot of your electrical problems can be traced back to the ignition switch- another on going problem. try cycling the key or wiggling it to regain some of the consumers.
  7. just make sure you use genuine porsche parts and approved oil. Also keep the receipts. The manufacture does look at dealer service history when an out of warranty or "goodwill" claim is being considered. As a former service manager I saw some goodwill applications get declined because of that.
  8. there is a specially built spanner for these blades, Baum tool # P208BTU sells for about $30.00
  9. check with your regular shop and see if they have the Baum Tools i-Scan. It can also turn the airbag light out on your car.
  10. When I left the dealer hadn't had the problem with 97s, but on the 95-96 there is no choice but do a valve guide job. i used to keep a set of heads in stock to reduce the down time of the car. If you are the original owner contact PCNA and see if they will give you any assistance.
  11. while the cover is the same size hole what you have to look at is the wide body of the tt vs the regular body and how the edges would hang. I have seen a regular body tt style spoiler somewhere
