  1. Now, apparently I am having a brain fart, and the manual covers every other light than the marker lights............................. How do you change the front marker light? I would guess that the reflector would just pop out, since I took out the headlight assembly and still can't get to the marker bulb..................... just don't want to pry and break the reflector out.   3. Hey Bro, I never did update my Nav, I found it would be a huge pain to put an aftermarket unit in due to the bose amp. I can't say that I use nav that much anyways, but it is nice to have something that is updated when you actually need it. Parajed Did you ever go with a Nav system for your Cayenne? I am i the same boat and wanting to put in something nicer on my 06. Let me know what you ended up doing and if you are happy with your decision. Thank you.

  5. Hey Bro, listening to the video it sounds like U may have some people stuck in ur engine......... may be the 1st problem!! Do u have any coolant leaking? That would be #1 for a water pump I would think. I had similar noise, but I also had coolant all over the place, may be ur water pump starting to go. I had about an inch of lateral movement in mine.....whoops Good luck!
  6. Just reading at Futureshop and I see that Pioneers new AVIC-F900BT comes with a fibre-optic out. Now I am not a car electronics guy, but will this marry up to the Bose Headunit (It is fibre right?)Just wondering, I hate the PCM 2.0, it is so old and antiquated that I would like to get something that is actually up to date (w/o spending 5K) O yeah, I have a pepperS '04 Cheers Parajed

  8. Maurice, It does have VW markings on it, I guess that is why I couldn't find a porsche #??? I got a hold of my local garage, and it is costing me $124.00CDN plus shipping and tax, quite a difference from the blower motor loren was talking about, at a MSRP of $464.12US Cheers Parajed Parajed: I would try to determine whether a VW cousin (Touareg) has the same blower motor, but with a different part number. It would probably cost less than 1/2 what the Porsche dealer wants for it. I know that on a 986 Boxster, there is an equivalent motor made for a Jetta Wagon by the same manufacturer (Valeo) for 1/3 the price. Does your defective blower motor have any factory markings on it, from either Valeo or VW? Regards, Maurice.
  9. Loren, Thanks for the reply. I have had the blower motor out and tested it while it is in my hand, deifinately corrosion issues. I put some lithium grease on it and it is working alright, but still cuts in and out. Cheers Parajed

  11. Hey Bro, Mine was doing the same thing. The other day I took the glove box off, and you are able to access the blower fan pretty easily (it is encased). You are able to take the motor right out of the casing. On mine I greased the bearing on the bottom of the motor (which was filled with dirt and grime also) and blew all the crap out with an air compressor. Has been working flawlessly now, I think it just got a little dry, and after a few minutes it would seize. Hope that helps, it is a pretty easy DIY job if that is what it is. Parajed
  12. I also got quoted 5.5 hours (it is what their program says). I was told it was mostly to do with removing the schrouding, the actual pump replacement is about an hour. My 04 CS is so bad the I had about 1" of play in the pulley. Pissing out coolant (well now water) sometimes, and then barely anything at other times. I have to wait until Wednesday to get it replaced, they also said that they were going to replace the serpintine belt....... does that sound right? They pretty much said "well while we are in there we might as well replace it. Granted I have 144K Km on it, but it almost sounded like they were replacing it just cause............ Cheers Invoice has it as 5.5 hours which was approved by 3rd party warranty - I am assuming that is accurate. JR
  13. Dennis, You were right, my water pump is FF'd. The pully had about 1 1/2" of movement...........................
  14. Dennis, Thanks for the reply, car has been running at 90 the whole time, even with some extended highway use. I have never seen it up over that. Not sure if they are linked or just a coincidence. I put the part # into a OEM supplier and came up with just a $25 pully, but maybe that is just for the cover......lol It seems once the coolant hits a certain level, it doesn't leak nearly as much, maybe just the weight of the extra fluid pushing it out?? Cheers I'm certainly not a mechanic, but a pump/pully noise with a coolant leak sounds like a failing water pump to me. Has the operating temperature of the vehicle changed?
  15. Hey Guys, I am not very intuitive with cars, so please bear with me. I have an '04 cayenne S and I am having quite a bit of squeaking. Initially I thought it was the surpintine belt, but up looking closer, it looks like my top pully/pump has a bad bearing as it is having quite a bit of lateral movement. Does anyone know what this part is? It is the one closest to the top, pretty much right in the middle of the engine, right underneat the air intake. I also have a coolant leak, Not sure where it is coming from yet, but it will drain about 2 litres from my reservoir and stop leaking, so I am guessing that the leak is coming from somewhere high? It is so tight in there I am having a real hard time locating it. Thanks Parajed
  16. So now Porsche says that I can't buy just the blade, I have to get the whole fob/blade. Does anyone know what the average price is for it? The quoted me $225 plus 1/2 hour labour for programming.............. sound about right?? Cheers
  17. Well I got the blade out, that pin is tricky!!! Thanks RFM for the info. Now if Porsche would get on it and send me my new blade (1 week later and still no blade).................... Looks nice in the driveway though................lol
  18. I had a Cayenne key blade break off in my ignition. I talked to the dealership (which is 2 1/2 hours away) and they are sending me a new blade and said I can just replace it onto my Fob. Does anyone know how to get the blade out of the fob? The only thing that I can get off is the battery cover. (04 pepper S) Thanks Parajed
  19. Just a quick note on winters vs. all seasons. I live in Central Ontario, Canada, and I bought Michilin Pilot A/S tires (275/35/20). I have had absolutely no problems with these tires, and never had to engage 4hi/lo. I am sure that winter tires would grip more, but it all has to do with the DRIVER. We have about 5 feet of snow up here, and the roads are nothing close to being bare. My Pepper S handles like it should, if you corner too fast, you'll go straight, as you would with any vehicle. I read so much about A/S being terrible in the winter............... If people adjusted their driving habits to the road conditions our insurance would be a whole lot less. Maybe people should blame the vehicle a little less and themselves a little more. Just my 2 cents
  20. Hey Bro, I also have a 04 CS and you can do it on the digital input. Just look in your manual and it tells you how to do it (sorry it is slipping my mind) Cheers, Parajed Hello Robert. I've also imported a Porsche Boxster from the US, and I also got a cluster in MPH, but to pass the RIV inspection, you only need to switch the Digital display from MPH to KMH, It make no difference from them if your analog display is still show MPH but you need to have the odometer in KMH and the digital speedometer display in KMH. For the Boxster we switch from MPH to KMH by turning and holding the clock knob, I don't know about the Cayenne but it should be similar. Look in your Porsche manuals. Best regards
  21. Wish it was that easy!!! Contrast and brightness are max. No difference inbetween modes. Thanks though!!! never saw such a thing check your day/nite mode and contrast/brightness
  22. Does anyone know anything about this? I am trying to figure out if it has a backlight or not. Also looking for a part # so I can just search for a replacement LCD screen for it. I can faintly see the screen, it still works, just very, very dim!! Cheers
