  1. PROBLEMS Key fobs did not work Trunk would not open (even from button inside) Engine compartment would not open (even from button inside) Fuel door would not open (the worst for my car) SOLUTION Immobiliser control unit central locking system alarm system was blowing the fuse in that unit. Some call this the central lock receiver. I am adding this because this forum has helped me many times and I could not find my exact locking system problem. I could unlock the car and drive the car with the key, but the rest of the system stayed in the "lock position" even when I hit the unlock button on the dash. The unit was not original and was still covered under the Porsche warranty so while it was frustrating, it was not expensive. Anyway, I stuck as many key words in here that would have worked for me and hope this helps someone else.
  2. I didn't find the driver side rear Targa top curtain. I am starting to think it disappeared a long time ago due to some grease on a trim piece. I did manage to get some silicone grease in the assembly on both sides. On the driver's side, I worked where the curtain was missing. On the passenger side, I worked in the gap between the two curtains. It is currently opening and closing nicely. My car dealing buddy says to remove the curtain by "unhooking it". I don't know if that helps your situation.
  3. This weekend's project is to figure out why the Targa top has slowed down in the close operation. I noticed the driver's side rear track doesn't have a track curtain in place. I think it did once, but honestly don't know for sure. I suspect a piece of the fabric is stuck in there somewhere and wish I could open the hatch with the targa top open. May have to bribe a kid to climb back there ...
  4. Thanks for guidance on code P0453!

  5. Just had this repaired on a 996. It was a bad sensor.
