  1. every since i bought the car 2nd gear has been "bumpy" when shifting from 1st to 2nd. down shifting from 3rd to 2nd is perfectly fine. my first instinct is the syncro's however i have seen some post about the adjustments that are in the shifter and such i will probably change the oil this weekend and see if that does anything, i didnt know if there was anything else i can do....
  2. Congrats and glad all went well. Did you use a power bleeder or do it the old fashion way? old fashion way. Is it necessary to power bleed with the brakes or can i use the same approach? I had left over fluid and was thinking about bleeding the brakes
  3. well the new parts are in and the car is up and running again, it sure feels a whole lot diffrent with a new clutch in there, but it seems to be doing good! expet for the 90+ degree weather making me and the car a little warm..... thanks for everyones help!!
  4. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7064 thanks dont know why i didnt see it...
  5. well i got the new clutch in and the updated parts and i am still having issues the clutch is sticking and the pressure is not there, and the slave just started spewing liquid, so new clutch slave for me.... on order, waiting another week at least i caught the clutch before it messed up the flywheel, it was defiantly worn out! next question is how do i bleed the clutch after i replace the slave?
  6. yes i have found that there is an updated release lever, i will be replacing it, i am replacing the flywheel bolts because i will be removing it to update the ims bolts. those are the 2 updates i know of, i have replaced the Air oil separator 6 months ago, so that is ok, kinda would like an aluminum flywheel but dono if i wanna spend that much money, i have purchased the sachs clutch off ebay for $358. I will also be checking the RMS seal, hopefully i wont have to mess with it, kinda scared to touch that.... also since the sachs clutch doesn't have springs on it, if i get the aluminum flywheel will the not work together since the flywheel will no longer have springs on it?
  7. Well i pulled the transmission and clutch and i dont see any damage, however the clutch is used up the rivets were just about flush with the clutch material. hopefully ill put in the new sachs clutch and it will be as good as new oh and there is a line on the pressure plate that looks like a crack, it is really a streak of oil from my greasy hands and while i am in there i know i need to replace the intermediary shaft bolts, check the RMS and replace the flywheel bolts, any other general maintenance i need to do while the tranny is out?
  8. i agree, expecially since it happened suddenly when driving, twice, the first time it allows a slight slipping at top end and about half of the resistance, then the 2nd time there is like no resistance and it is slipping all over the place.... i will be removing the tranny this weekend , i am in search of a tranny jack now. I will take some pictures when i find the offending part, i am assuming it is the pressure plate. I am really curious i think the previous person put a aluminum flywheel in there, i guess i will find out! will the sachs kit work with both the aluminum flywheel and the stock one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SACHS-NEW-C...sspagenameZWDVW
  9. well it defiantly is the clutch i dono if the pressure plate is cracked or if it is just flat going out but now there is like almost no pressure needed to push in and it almost doesn't come back up and engage, and when it does engage it is slipping all over the place...it slips really easy so i guess i am pulling the transmission this weekend
  10. so i should try bleeding the system then if that dosent fix it pull the tranny? you dont think it sounds at all like it could be anything else? :( i hate pulling trannys hahah
  11. so i should try bleeding the system then if that dosent fix it pull the tranny?
  12. OK so today my clutch seemed to go very soft on me and WAY to easy to puch in, it seems to slip at higher RPM then shifting hard and I can feel vibration in the clutch pedal I have found a couple of threads to make it seem as if it is the Clutch Actuator do these symptoms seem correct for this problem or could it be something else the clutch doesn't seem to slip at all when i engages, but it seems slow to engage on a high rpm shift
  13. I am looking at running speaker wire to all the speakers for a component setup so i can have the crossover mounted in the hood and not cut the factory wiring, also running 2 pair to behind the seat for 2 subs.... i see a blank rubber filler for the truck(hood) to the service area (where the battery is at), that i can modify for this purpose, however i am not sure where i should run the wires to tap into the firewall and into the passenger compartment, how has everyone else done it? oh and i have a '99 carrera
