  1. Sounds like lifters, it's common on all kinds of cars. My 996 with a reman'd motor did it as well...
  2. A bit late but... You can replace that hose with an off the shelf hose, as long as the hose you use is rated to a high enough pressure, and is meant to handle oil, lots of hoses are not suitable even at the right size. A good way to save money on a repair like this is to take the old hose (or at least it's end fittings, and desired length) to a local "injection shop" -places that deal with diesel or other commercial equipment, and have the original end pieces swapped over to new hose. I've used this method with great success and saved thousands of dollars over the years. Comes in particularly handy on older turbocharged/obscure car parts. Hope that helps you, or since it's been so long since your last post, someone else in the same boat.
  3. Do you happen to know the highest milage 996 GT3 in the States (or North America)? Anyone else? Loren? There's a car on ebay with 56k miles, and one on autotrader with around 55k. These two may or may not be the same car. I've seen a few in the mid 40s also. Ahmet
