  1. Isn't there a requirement to have a high-vis jacket for when driving in France/Germany ? Dunno why you want to go - sure its scorching here in Dublin these days :D Enjoy the trip thought ! I would love to be doing something similiar, but the other half doesn't enjoy Ferry crossings !
  2. try http://www.porsch-apart.co.uk/ or (however they charge in Euro, and the old Sterling ain't what it used to be ;) ) http://www.karrera.net/
  3. does anyone know what the part number is for the bracket that fits a boxster s exhaust ?
  4. Hi Folks, I plan to purchase a 3.2 oettle'd backbox. However I remember someone on here posted pics of one with additional taps/valves on the new bits of piping. The idea being they could open/close the valve to control the sound of the exhaust. Can anyone find that thread ? as I've spent ages looking for it, but still can't find it. Also what do I need to install a 3.2 backbox on a 2.5 boxster. I assume a bracket of somesort is required ? Again I've search the forum, but can't find a thread ! but I'm sure this has been done 100s of times. Thanks Brian
  5. Kinda bumping my own post :) but with new knowledge. We put the boxster up on axle stands, and had no issue removing the exhaust backbox. We didn't need to remove the rear bumper, as we managed with the space available. Complete downside to all this, was the new replacement exhaust (hand made!) didn't line up with the brackets, was out by a couple of MM either side which made it impossible to put on. Lesson learned :)
  6. I might be able to help - I purchased a retro fit kit from porsche recently. I'll grab it and have a look for part numbers (i do remember seeing the audi symbol on the mirror!) ok in the kit I have 3 seperate bags. Bag 1 = N0209094 <-- just a bag of Porsche zip ties ! Bag 2 = 99661298400 <-- its a porsche wiring loom for the mirror Bag 3 = 4DO857511D <-- the actual Audi mirror, its alot wider than mirror currently in the car. Also its black in color
  7. Hi folks, I plan to purchase the M030 suspension kit for the 986 boxster. What I would like to know, is can someone provide me a with a list of the parts that need to come off the current suspenion (top mounts etc)? I will then purchase new versions of all these parts, and effectivily build up the M030 suspension prior to fitting on the car, with the idea, of just removing the old setup and popping in the new one. Thanks Brian
  8. hi Folks. I'm planning on changing my exhaust at the weekend, and I'm just looking for a guide on how to do it. I have a rough idea, but its always handy to have a few photos to guide you. Thanks Brian
  9. in my experience LEDs in general are not as bright when used individually. I think you would be better off with red bulbs ?
  10. There is a company in the UK called Porscheapart who sell the kit. Should be cheaper to ship to Cyprus :) than from the USA
  11. grand no problem - I'll send a PM of good mechanics in the area. We will have to organise an Irish boxster meet in the next few months !
  12. Hi, Can anyone identify the wheels fitted to the GT3 in the attached pic ? Thanks Brian
  13. Hi - i'm in Dublin also. If you need a spare pair of hands let me know, I've done one or two things with the boxster and don't mind helping out. I have a voltmeter handy too, which might be useful for fixing the alarm issue ?
  14. Lovely Pics ! what are the make of those alloys ? they look like BBS LM reps ? Great to see a boxster on here, with the wheel on the correct side too ;)
  15. Hi Folks, Can anyone post pics they might have of a black 986 boxsters with black alloys ? Thanks Brian
  16. cheers Zeb - I didn't get it sorted, as I was heading out for a few scoops that night. I'll give it a go next week - my mistake was only undoing the bolts on 1 side ! No rust at all thankfully - car is kept underground and covered over too =) we don't salt our roads either like in the UK so the cars don't rust like they do in that environment. I'll post up when i get it sorted eventually ! thanks again !
  17. Sorry to keep annoying you Zeb ! I got to point 4 on the front sway bars - i.e. bent down the metal bracket etc. But for the life of me I couldn't remove the old bushing and u-bracket, it just wouldn't budge. Any tips on removing it ?
  18. Thanks again Zeb - the inner of the bushings actually do have a canvas ribbing all around the inside of them. I'll be giving it a go on Friday !
  19. sorry Zeb - I had huge trouble finding a supplier that wouldn't cost and arm and leg to ship to me. So I ended up going with the stock parts (see pic attached). I guess loads of copper grease will suffice for the bushings - and will I need to remove the wheels ?
  20. excellent - Cheers Zeb - just need to find a european supplier now :)
  21. Thanks Zeb - I'm guessing the part you are referring to is the "bush part" in this pic ? This particular part on my boxster has started squeeking recently, a quick spray of lubricat and the noise goes away - must pick up a replacement !
  22. Good post - excuse my ignorance though - would this be the same part as the Front Anti roll bar bushing ?
  23. Thats the exhaust alright - comes with 90mm exit pipes. Its coming it at around 900 euros shipped from the UK - so that would be about 1400USD. CAT-Back only system however.
  24. thanks MEE PS never sure whether to call it a backbox or muffler or Zorst :)
  25. Hi Folks, I have a 99 2.5, and I hope to change over the backbox to a Supersprint one. Is there anything in particular I require i.e. gaskets or C clamps for securing the exhaust etc ? and do i really need to remove the rear bumper. I found a post by Tool Pants on the babblers forum about changing over the exhaust, however the thread doesn't have anything in it ? Thanks Brian
