  1. I had the same issue with the drain plug and also stripped O2 Sensor. I went to local hardware store, purchased a 5/8"-11/4" pipe wrench. It has 5 rows of sharks teeth and can muster all the torque you can put into it. Sprayed blastoff on the O2 sensor, let it soak over night and came off without incident. The drain plug just required the pipe wrench.

  3. 1999 996 C2 cab 3.4L I need to install a new pre-cat O2 sensor, but the threads are rusted. Anyone have any ideas how to get a rusted O2 sensor to disengage without destroying the threads? I have tried WD 40, without any positive result. Thanks in advance
  4. Replaced the MAF and still get the short/open circuit fault in Durametric. My question is how to trace the short/open circuit. Is this tied to the ignition switch as well? Thanks again for all of the advise.
  5. Durametric showed usual 996 codes secondary air injection pump codes. Dismantled the pump, bearings are good, electrical connection good, but the filter was very dirty. Can the filter inside the pump be replaced or, new pump the only fix?
  6. I have the airbag issue, as well. Both seatbelt receptacles have been replaced at the dealer, and still light stays on. But, Durametric is showing "Seatbelt drivers", is this a software issue that has to be re-flashed at the dealer? 7. 1999 996 cab - How do I access to the emergency cable, behind the left rear light fixture? Driver side trunk release not functioning properly. Thanks in advance
  8. 1999 996 Carrera Cab 3.4L Odometer changed from mi to km, after removing negative battery cable to install a new secondary air pump. Very good with metric system, but my main concern is that the original mileage is lost and could be detrimental to any future trade or sell value of the car. Anyone advise on the procedure to change back to mi? Thanks in advance.
