Thanks for the information. Any idea on cost?

Are the differences between the 997 Navigation and Extended Navigation System software or hardware based?
(e.g. If I purchase a 997 with the regular Nav can I upgrade to the Extended nav via software?)
Thanks!

Try removing the front bumper anyway. There is most likely lots of gunk blocking part of the radiators.

:( Any one know what the problem when gas will only go in in short bursts? Seems like the tank is full when it is not. Pump keeps shutting off like tank is full.
Thanks
Dan
Check fuse E6.

there are some things that you just don't take on....this is one of them.
That's crap... Many people have done it with great results.
-
The crossovers are in the amp.
-
Yup... FM isn't a problem, but AM will come in pretty crappy.
-
Do you have the updated Traffic Pro CDs? :)
-
What year is that car? I didn't know there is another option other than HIFI in pre-02 996. The speaker doesn't look factory.
It is more a Tequipment item.

Hey Da'le, I have a picture but would have to scan it in from a book. Basically, it looks the same except there is an auto button that replaces the A/C Max buttom and the left side of the display indicates the degrees setting.
Since this requires a sun sensor, etc... I am wondering if we will be able to figure out a way to retrofit this in the future. Or, are these other items already present...
Woah woah woah... I am Dale over here.... :)
As far as the retrofit, maybe Tool Pants knows. Sounds like one of those things that could be far from cost efficient.

I have a friend with a 996 that is at the end of the lease. Early in the "ownership" he added the Porsche High-Performance Audio System.
Apparently to install the door speakers you had to cut the doors a little.
Does anyone know what parts are salvageable without being noticeably removed? I am guessing I can atleast swap out the Amp and the Dash speakers.
Thanks!

996 641 980 76 70C has been replaced by 996 641 981 73 70C.
It is for a Carrera 6 speed MY02 on.
Retail price: $1987.00
Thanks for the quick reply!

Part # 996 641 980 76 70c
As far as I know it is a cluster for a Non-Turbo 996 from 02-04. Is this correct?
Thanks! :)

That looks fantastic. We just need a place in the US to sell them.

How does the screen look with the top down?
-
Red pullout is for getting into the front trunk with the electrical releases, not for charging the battery. It is has been moved within the fuse box on the new Boxster, along with the elimination of the spoiler switch. But, we have a winner.
Since I am running out of trivia pictures, here is an easy one.
What is missing?

Fuse Box no longer has a cover? :)

Does anyone have pictures to show differences of the Auto vs. Manual Climate controls?
Thanks

Lefteris over on PPBB does it all the time - he carboned just about everything in his Boxster
Yeah Lefty is THE man when it comes to CF. Check out http://jewelsforcars.com

Loren, do you have the schematics for the 02 996 cluster?
Thanks
-
Keep us updated on your progress the CGT head looks nice.
Any idea of cost?

I purchased a cluster off ebay that is within 7000 miles (less) than my current. I want to switch to this new cluster.
Does anyone know what pins can I apply a voltage to so it thinks the car is in motion?
Thanks

Thanks for the quick response!
NAV unit interchangability
in 997-1 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S)
Posted
AFAIK there are four different Nav modules for the 997. One each for the Carerra 2 and Carerra 4 and One each for the C2 and C4 made after 06/2006.
What the actual differences are, I have no idea.
