Nope, but you are warm.  So to speak.

On MY 02S, I believe the red pullout for charging the Battery is near the bottom. In your photo it is near the top - but it is hard for me to research since my Boxster is in the shop for another week

Red pullout is for getting into the front trunk with the electrical releases, not for charging the battery. It is has been moved within the fuse box on the new Boxster, along with the elimination of the spoiler switch. But, we have a winner.

Since I am running out of trivia pictures, here is an easy one.

What is missing?

A support is missing but I had something else in mind.  What is missing was on the back side of the 986 trunk lid.

Notification sticker of emergency trunk release in case one finds oneself trapped inside

Taken from the manual:

Welcome Home Lighting

Switching on

f Move light switch to the HOME position.

For improved visibility and security when you get

in and out of the car, the fog lights and the tail

lights remain on for a certain period of time:

– When you get out of the car, the lights are

turned on for approx. 30 seconds after the

door is opened. The off-delay time resumes

when the vehicle is locked.

On vehicles with the Sport Chrono package,

the PCMcan be used to set the off-delay time.

This setting also changes the lighting period

for unlocking the vehicle.

Please observe the chapter “Individual

Memory” in the separate PCM operating

instructions.

The lights are turned on for approx. 30 seconds

when the vehicle is unlocked.

The lights go out if the ignition is switched on or

when leaving the Welcome Home lighting

If the ignition key is withdrawn and the door is opened

while the lights (not the parking light left/right)

are on, a gong warns of possible battery discharge.

In some countries, differences are possible

due to provisions of law.

In the picture above there is no emission sticker under the trunk lid like on the 986. Guess it is not required anymore.

So what is this in the third opening in the front bumper cover.

Can someone see if the rod is mentioned in a 987 owners manual.

I was told it was to remove the key if the key becomes stuck in the ignition. The ignition switch has a cap you pry off. There is a hole under the cap. You stick the rod in the hole to release the key.

Next question. What is this cable thing next to the battery with a round red thing on the end.

I love this thread...

The cable is for the battery cut off switch used during transportation, and is removed during the PDI.

Good to know about the little tool for the ignition switch, i just found the one for manual operation of the sunroof in a 997 today.
