After 10 years I had to replace my Cayenne S with a new(er) one. The old one had the cooling fan running quite a bit already, but the new one it sounds almost like a turbine! Temperature gauge is not in overheating, so the fan works. But it is so loud. Naturally as I live in S-Nevada, we have it hot now and the thing runs almost all the time. The car is a 2011 S with now 34k m on it. Please let me know your experiences to decide if i have to see Porsche service. Thanks!

I have a quote to get the lower engine mounts replaced for about 900, is that reasonable? And is there something else I should let be fixed/exchanged at the same time? Still hunting down this pesky vibrations...

as I mentioned, I had followed the instruction but it does not engage.is there a way to check if i broke the knob while taking it off?

Followed the instructions too about pulling the knob and with a little strength I got it off. Not successful on getting it back on though. I push it on, it makes a clicking noise as if it was engaging but it seems not to as I can not change gears. Any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks! The upper mounts replacement wasn't too expensive, but do you know a ballpark for the main mounts? Sounds to me that much more labor is involved. Couldn't do it myself I have to go to a dealer-ship.

Have '04 Cay S with about 94k miles on it. Since the last 15-20k miles a vibration in the car is getting stronger and stronger. It occurs when braking and getting to a stop and remains while standing. It stops when I continue to drive after for example a traffic light. I had the car at local Porsche service and was attested, brakes are not at fault. They pointed to the upper engine mounts and replaced those. It did not help at all. They went at their expense thru all the cleaning of injection system and exchanging of hoses. Car runs much better, but the vibrations are still there. Harmonic vibrations maybe the reason and they had no way to fix them. Mind you these are not just small vibrations, it makes loose change rattle on the console. Frankly, very annoying. Anyone with similar problems, better yet: with a solution? Thanks

Thanks. Have it just done and pads are almost completely gone and the rotor has lost about 2mm and has become due too. The warning light came on just yesterday. What upsets me that my dealer here in LV had the car about 1k miles for another service and that i was told although pads are low they should be good until next service. This is the third time in a row they returned a car to me that was not fixed or checked properly. I am just waiting until they send me something about a rating of their service. Needless to say that I want to go to an independent brake shop. I got quoted 600$ for pads and rotors. I paid that much just for front pads changed! Good to know that the front wheels skipping is normal. Thanks again

Have an 04 Cayenne S with about 76k miles on it. Two things are happening lately (actually for more than 10k miles) and i am looking for any advise and what can i do about them: First: If I just start to roll off from a stop and not yet have started to really speed of, I hear a squeaking sound as you would hear if you braked. Just that I have not put the food on either the brake nor the gas. Now, if i slightly touched the brake pedal the squeak stops. The answer from Porsche Service is, your brake pads are low and once you have them replaced it would go away. Anyone with the same experience? Second: if I have to make a sharp left turn at lower speeds the front tires/wheels start to vibrate strongly and it almost feels as they would skip. They certainly not just roll, is that normal? thanks for your replies!
