  1. I think you two guys have similar, but different problems. I did the BM and the Porsche ssk on my C4S and didn't have a clip issue, maybe I got lucky. I thought you (Bav) were missing the retaining clip that snaps on the rod end, if you're not, check the rod end itself, may be fractured/broken. If that's the case, just replace it. Red, I think your problem is with the forward gear cable, you just need to re-install and adjust it. If you didn't have the clip that retains the reverse cable rod end on the shift tower, then you need a reverse rod end as well, it includes the clip. Maybe Loren or Tool Pants could chime in and shed some light. Chris
  2. you don't need the white square w/ the bm. there is a plastic retaining clip that pops into the left/reverse rod end, sounds like you don't have that in, that's what holds it in place.
  3. At first I wa really upset. Now, I've come to deal with it, it';s an awsome car, I've run the ***** out of it, I love it. So what if it blows a seal, along as it's not a recurrent theme or motor. But, I'm not sure I'd want a 996 out of warranty, still debating that one.
  4. I have the p-zeros, got 25k out of the fronts and 15k the rears, that includes track days too.
  5. Does anybody know the odds of having a repeat RMS? Just had my first (only?) at 24k, '03 C4S, I'm bummed. :(
  6. They're on back order. But would those tires work on 11in rims, I may be able to pick some up to be used for track tires later.
  7. I ordered a set of pirelli 240 snow sport tires from tire rack.225 front and 265 rear. Can those 265's be put on the stock rims 18x11, they recommend 18x10-10.5. Really don't want to buy another set of rims. :drive: If I did buy rims they would be 18x11 dual purpose(snow/track). I acn't have three sets of rims/tires in the garage, wife would kill me.
  8. Mine uses a qt every 1500 mi, never a drop on the ground, no smoke. I drive mine hard, which may play a role.
  9. I have GHL's, plenty loud for me (regular version, I think).
  10. Why don't you take it to the track first and see how it is out of the box. Your local PCA puts on a very safe DE event. Might save $$$$, what do you have to lose?
  11. Not that I know of, I wish there were. nice to spend 90k on a car and get those toyota crap stalks.
  12. I would just add the ROW springs for your car, that will lower it a little and not sac ride too much. Remember, your car already has an awsome sport suspension out of the box, so it's tough to improve on that. It's probably more than you will ever use now (esp if you don't plan to track the car, famous last words).
  13. Thanks Loren, I'll try that. Could be that the car hasn't gotten hot enough since I installed the spoiler. I'm probably being paranoid.
  14. Loren/Tool pants; I think my deck lid fan is shorted out, any way to test it? I put an aero wing on car, I think it let a small amt of rain get on the fan, doesn't that happen with a stock lid anyway?
  15. Does anybody have the straight scoop on these things, esp the unichip unit. Really undetectable, easily removed? Anybody ever had any warranty problems with these things? Thanks Chris
  16. My GHL sounds awsome as well. I wish I would have gotten that price though! I paid almost 900$, you stole it for 679$! The quality is 1st class.
  17. The last few times that I've done work on my car, the radio mysteriously comes on. While I was adding my fabspeed airkit, the cd comes on, when putting in the ssk, the cd again. No keys in ignition, nothing. Am I shorting out the system somehow, or does my car not like mods. I did have the dealer replace the radio bc it kept malfunctioning, displaying "protect".
  18. Have them replace the pse under warranty, then pull them off, sell and buy decent aftermarket mufflers.
  19. I recently installed a custom/aftermarket gt2 style wing on my C4S. It replaced the factory retractable unit. I used the -51 harness. The wing houses a third tailight, in addition to the oem unit below the window. Isn't there a oem 'blind' that plugs the oem slot below the window so I won't have fourteen tailights!
  20. Very nice. Armourall is about to release a product very similar to rejex, only at a third the cost. Interesting.
