  1. First of all you once you get a spoiler message you need Durametric or PIWIS to reset and check the operation again. After reset, you have to found out if the pump is working just by listening while operating the toggle switch. The pump location is show on the drawing and the switches are located on the right hand actuator under a small plastic cover. Sometimes (it was my case) the switches just pop out of is recess and need to be push back in. But, remember as soon the fault comes back on you need to used Durametric , select "Instrument cluster" and erase the "spoiler fault" Check also for a leak around the actuators. It is not easy to fill or bleed but there is a lot of discussion about that : Spoiler discussion spoiler discussion 2 spoiler bleeding
  2. May be Loren can help with this. How can you locate the proper plug out of the wiring diagrams. The only two wires plug into the diagrams are the one on this picture. Is there a way to locate exactly the one needed....
  3. First the repair manual is only talking about sensor removal/installation with the engine removed. I don't have any experience with this but the driver side one look easier to removed. The part# is 996-606-125-00 and it is about $79.00.
  4. Can someone tell me what is the thickness of a brand new oem clutch disc. Thanks for your help, J.P.
  5. I hope you got all the PDF"s files for the installation of the kit. No you don't have to lower the engine or the gear box according to the files....
  6. Take a look on the top of the engine , left side. If there is fluid take a look at the seal on the picture. I saw a leak lately on a turbo and replacement of a o-ring on this part was needed.. .
  7. Loren mention an important detail, there is a difference between the 996 and 996 turbo intermediate shaft.996 is chain driven and 996 turbo is gear driven. Completely different design...
  8. Yes Chuck is right with his statement about pentosin. But I wonder if the fluid did not migrate to the clutch reservoir. Take a look at the clutch reservoir in front on the driver side and see if it is overfilled now....
  9. If it can help.. Here is the wiring diagram of the spoiler system...
  10. Your right it doesn't test it . And if there is a fault it will only show the fault light when you reach 120 km/hr. If you got access to a voltmeter you should check if you got voltage going to the pump. The pump can be reach wit the removal of the panel under the engine compartment. Also check the switch on the right hand actuator under the small plastic cap to see if they are not out of position
  11. Just in case you did not do this step....With the Durametric go to instrument cluster and reset the fault
  12. First look at fuse D7 and after start the troubleshooting as required ....
  13. IMO uneven operation of the wing is normally due to air in the system or low fluid level because of a leak. A good start is to fill, bleed and leak check.... It is a very expensive system to replace and often at fault. There is a lot of post about this subject. I don't have more info to give you because I never dismantle the system completely. Good luck.
  14. The switch #11 on the picture is $49.75 part#996 613 167 00. It can be DIY with little bit of ability.... I just remember mine was only moved out a little bit so I had to push it back in and taped it in place... Also forgot to mention, as soon you got a spoiler fault you need to reset the fault with a PIWIS or Durametric (in the instrument cluster section). Even if you fix it the fault won't erase by itself.....
  15. Got all the info here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...122&hl=wing
  16. You got exactly the problem mention in the TSB #4897 of the 1/05. "TT_Loud_Whistling_Noise_From_the_Engine_Area.pdf" If you got access to the TSB you will get all the info about this problem. It is a pressure control valve within the steering reservoir that is vibrating and causing it to make that noise. You need to replace the reservoir to fix it. 996 314 920 34 ($739.50) looks like it is supersede by 997 314 920 31. Hope this help, J.P.
  17. 652 is delete sunroof , 00501 ???, Some people like yellow pagid in front and black in the back....
  18. What color is your air filter. If it is red it is a cleanable K&N filter and the oil is normal since you have to applied oil after cleaning it... If you do some search on the net you will found ways to get the MAF cleaned but I got my doubt about the efficiency of the cleaning process. But I know some people who succeeded. Sorry Wross we answer almost at the same time...
  19. Also if your alternator is at fault remember you can get a private shop to test it and replace, if necessary, only the voltage regulator which is inside the alternator. See this post Alternator...
  20. I am tempted to ask you if the aux air valve is part of the vapor recirculation system or part of the intake system...
  21. Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I too start studying Durametric. It is a fine tool but there was too many functions and terms unknown to me. It will take me a while before I can handle this tool properly other than just erasing messages....
  22. Ok I see. Simple set-up. Just realized it was on my wiring diagram but mist it....Thanks again Loren. Another question for you Loren. On the same diagram (MFI vehicle) just besides the ECU on the right, there is a valve called AAV. What is it?
