  1. While they may look good, you are restricting the airflow to your rads and can overheat much more quickly. Most would reccomend just visually inspecting the rads (front AND back) for debris and just clean it out. I considered them as well until I did the research and then opted not to install them.....last thing I want is my car to overheat because of something I did for looks. But to each his own.
  2. It sounds like a typical problem with tires when they are new. The tire will be very "greasy" for couple months. Should be fine shortly.
  3. While I feel for you in this situation, I can understand the OPC stance on this. Remember, you are buying a pre-owned car. There is no way they can cover something like this. You had every right to look over the car, have a PPI done, etc, etc, etc, as did they and nobody saw it. Beside "a friend on another forum" isn't going to fly as an excuse. Couple of suggestions: 1. Post a picture of the problem and give us more information about the car. 2. Based on that, most would agree that this is a very minor repair and not enough to get all worked up about. Get suggestion 1 done and you will get more input back from this board.
  4. Mark....wish I still had mine I would have just sent it to you. I gave it to another member. Have you tried posting on Rennlist as well? There is a want ads section now.
  5. Best instructions are the B&M SSK. Do a search here or you can download on the B&M website. If you can't get it either place email me and I will send you a copy. Welcome to the community.......now you have to post pics :) WE NEED PICS TO FEED OUR ADDICTION!!!
  6. I think we suffer from the same disease.........what is it?
  7. Yeah, I don't remember thinking very clearly on my first date with my wife......and many subsequent ones as well!
  8. Jim...it was your reaction ("whatever the heck they are") to it not her interpretation. I am sure she was totally serious. And what in the world were you thinking taking a chemist to a sushi bar? YOu were just asking for problems. You should have just cooked dinner for her. Wait scratch that. Unless you have a Kelm in your house, not sure if you would have got the temp hot enough to kill eveything evil off. You can't win in this one.
  9. Well TP had 2 of my 3 suggestions. 1. Get instructions to remove gas cover 2. Remove clamshell 3. Remove rear or front bumper (very easy) I was also going to comment on the same thing about the hole in the sheets. My body shop that I do business with does that exact same thing. When they re-shot my hood they brought out 1/2 dozen Arena Red samples on sheet metal about the size of notebook paper with a hole (about 2" diameter) that the rested on the body of the car at the clamshell and chose from there.
  10. The technology is in the bottle...at least that's what my polymer chemist/bio-chemist wife tells me--long chain polymer molecules whatever the heck they are!. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is hilarious!
  11. Makes more sense now. I'll ask a dumb question though. Why can't you drive to the paint shop so they can match on the car? If you can't take the car to the paint place then how far away is the shop? Depending on that answer I have a couple other suggestions for you.
  12. Why can't they color match from the car? I'm confused on this one.
  13. THX for the input. I'm really happy with the NXT Jim. I think it looks fantastic. I am a big fan of the Maguire's line of products.
  14. Door locks are a PST2 programable feautre. There are 3 modes. All are in the manual as are other features you can have. (oops....I just re-read that and it sounds a bit condescending....my apologies in advance if it does...no intent). I found that when I read my manual cover to cover I kept saying....."hey, my car doesn't do that" and off to the dealer I went. Normally they would charge for these but since I have just bought the car they did it gratis.
  15. Funny you bring this up.....my wife has said recently that she wants to trade in the ML for a CayenneS. I'd be interested to hear what others have to say as well. I do know the towing ability is much greater on the CS than the ML. As for the Toureg v. Cayenned debate I am not sure what you will find here. From what I understand though the Toureg has electrical problems of some sort in the beginning...not sure now though. I would also jump on the Rennlist Cayenne forum for the less technical talk to compare notes. I have browsed that one as well. I am sold on the CS though after driving it a couple weeks ago.
  16. Clears are..... 996 631 043 01 L 996 631 044 01 R
  17. Very interesting considering Porsche is not about straight line performance.
  18. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the head-up on NXT.
  19. If I am not mistaken you have to put the key in the lock position to move the top up (Key clockwise).
  20. Good explanation Berny. Thanks for that. However, I have not noticed any difference in the dust inhibitng. Seemed pretty equal to me. The protection maybe difference on windows and as well for long term application. Never tried the windows, I'll give it a shot. What does it do anyway for the windows?
  21. NXT you can buy at Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc. (log onto the Maguire's website for authorized resellers). Rejex you have to buy online from a distributor. If I am not mistaken Eric (bumperplugs) sells it.
  22. I'm done with this. ......good luck and happy motoring.
