  1. Have you checked the TSBs? Not sure there is one but it's worht checking out.
  2. Have you tried the manual?
  3. Paul, excellent write-up. Post again after you have put some miles on them. I am going with the PS2's next after I go through this set of Conti's. Happy Motoring, Dell
  4. 295-30-18 is N-Spec in both the PS2 (N2) and the Rib (N1)
  5. 7.5K-10K is more realistic with most of our driving styles. You can go to 15K, but I would not follow that interval. Mine is 7.5K per interval.
  6. Second what por911 said. His three are N-Spec rated. Very important. The others are NOT. Rosso's are N-Spec (N5) but only in the GT3/GT2 sizes.
  7. Have tried eBay. I frequently see that stuff being sold when a Beige interior upgrades to carbon, etc. Welcome to the board.
  8. One caveat though, only certain sizes are N rated. You need do make sure before you purchase.
  9. PS2 and PS Rib are both N-Rated.
  10. How did they "rate" higher? All the N-spec tires are approved for a reason and all are equally (give or take) excellent choices. I am just curious because if they rate higher than other tires, then Porsche would say "choose these first, and all the rest of the n-Spec are a good alternative" Personally, I am going to do the Conti's on my street wheels since I bought the wheel and tire package from Suncoast Porsche that way :) And for my second set of wheels, I haven't totally made up my mind yet but either track only tires so I have a dedicated set as to not use up my daily set or put on a set of winter tires. I am leaninig more towards track day tires on the second set since the P-Car will probably be a garage queen during the winter anyway.
  11. Hope this helps a bit on N-Spec http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/general/porsche.jsp
  12. The dry grip was great and the tread life was over 20K miles for me. And that is just the rears. THe front still look like they have another 20K in them. However, wet traction SUCKS! I am going with the Conti's now to see how they perform.
  13. Remember that the Goodyear tires are not Porsche approved tires. Just the Conti's. I ran the S02's (Porsche approved) on my 996 and now am trying the Conti's so I can't comment yet on the life of the tire but I can tell you that YMMV determning the tread life.
  14. Bad connection maybe? I would still take out the console and make sure it is connected nice and proper. Heck, if you have the new part and have paid for it you might as well install the new microswitch.
  15. Can't have ANY wax on the surface since it has to be clean for the clearbra install. Thanks for the input though.
  16. Thanks all. Great info. I got a roll of some super thick plastic from my builder that they put down in the house in carpeted areas before move-in so the workers don't mess it up. I am going to use that with painters tape on the painted surfaces and duct inside the wheel well where it will wrap in. And of course I will tkae pics :) This should be quite the sight.
  17. Darnit. At this point I almost wish I had leathereatte instead of leather and I wouldn't even be in this mess :( Thanks for the clarification though.
  18. The bodyshop is about 15 miles and there is no convenient way to get there. They are down by the strip and I am way out on the west mountains. I have a couple routes I checked out that I will use and just drive slow and many car lengths back from others. I found a surface street that doesn't see much traffic so that might be the winner. The reason I am so paranoid is that when I picked up the car last time from the shop when I had the GT3 kit put on when I got home the spoiler looked like a BB gun went to town on it--must of been 100 paint chips. Needless to say I had them re-shoot it. Scroll forward a year to today and the wife slid the car off the road a couple weeks back and plowed into a flat median (grass in most parts of the country but rock here) and scrathed the front bumper all to sh*t. I picked it up last Friday from the repairs (repaint) however, it has to go back since there is work that they missed that I didn't see when I picked it up last Friday at 5p in the rain. This is such a bummer. Now I am told to wait 3-4 weeks for it to totally cure before I can have the clearbra installed. The total down car on my car is going to be in the neighborhood of 2months. Maybe that is why I am a bit snappy. My apologies as well. AARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!
  19. Thanks P.....that is a great idea. I'll call my guy at the dealer in the morning. It (yours) was a bit funny BTW.....not assinine like 1999's. That was just plain ignorant.
  20. Please guys, simple question. I didn't know if there was any type of protective film that guys used (for ex: to protect lenses during a track day, etc). smart a*ss 1999.....I didn't expect that from you. You usually have good posts over at rennlist and get pissed at others when they post as you just did. FYI....there is more construction out here in LV than you can possibly imagine and all the routes to the body shop are clogged with dump trucks literally throwing rocks. So, either give something constructive or ignore the post. Ignorant replies are not welcome. Looking for help not immature hour.
  21. Thanks Dias, I was on my way to Lowe's anyway. Is cling plastic the brand name or generic? I am afraid those guys working there will have no idea what I mean by cling plastic :)
  22. That's intelligent. Thanks for helping out.
  23. Is there any type of pretective film (not the clear bra stuff) that I can cover the front bumper with to avoid rock chips on my newly painted front bumper so I can drive it to the body shop that needs to re-do some work? Ican't afford to get any rock chips on the bumper since the surface needs to be blemish free for the clear bra install.
  24. What is this? Would it work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33696
  25. I got a quote for $450 to repair that panel. I guess that is the only recourse I have.
