    I am doing the caliper swap tomorrow and want to put the car on 4 stands so I can do the caliper swap and brake fluid flush on all 4 without having to remove and replace each wheel one at a time or or one side at a time. Is there a best orde to follow when putting it up on 4 jack stands? And most importantly....where is the best place to put the 4 stands? Thanks! Dell

    Welcome! It is really easy to do. I think it took me a grand total of 10 minutes to take off the horseshoe, tap into the wires from the CAB switch, run the two new tap-ins to the new switch, TEST BEFORE I put everything back, then snap all pieces back. Very important, like TP said....make sure you are not using a swithc to tap into that has an led (like the door lock switch, footwell light switch, etc.) since those swithc run their light source DIFFERENTLY and will NOT work. Good luck...hope all works out great.

    I would assume that the targa switch is set up the same as the TT spoiler switch. You should have 2 pins vacant (the two outside pins) which control the light. I just tapped into my outside two pins wires going into my CAB top switch and ran the tap-ins to the outside pins of my TT spoiler switch....voila!....light. For more detailed instructions try a search..this has been covered several times before.

    Mine is always in the high 200s (around 285). But then again I don't get more than about 250-260 to a tank of gas. Your OBC will start to program to your driving style over time.

    Have you thought about white? I have a Z that I have that combo on (full boxster red interior and white exterior. There are many types of white to choose from. Not to mention I have not seen many white 986 or 996's.

    You can only get it when you order the car new since it is an exclusive option. Or...........if you know somebody that has one you can use their VIN to order a replacement. Then there is always the eBay way. About $500 on eBay last time I saw one. OUCH!

    I just moved from McLean and I know how bad the cops are (thankfully not personally).....but, I have a friend that got 6 days in jail and driving suspended for 1 yr. OUCH!!! Oh yeah, 110mph pn rt 28 by Dulles. And that was a reduced sentence.

    you can set a speed on the oBC that will sound a gong (warning tone) to let you know that you hit that speed. Helps if you are one of those people that do not look at the speedo and want ot know when you hit 55, etc.

    I did the dash switch install and it was about $40 in parts. The only difference between the 2 is that I have Temperature, Distance To Empty, Avg. MPH, and Avg. MPG but I don't get to set the speed gong. Using the stalk allows you to set/reset the speed gong. So for an additional $140 or so I could have the speed gong. IMHO I didn't think it was worth it. But all I really wanted was the temp and fuel remain anyway.

    There was one for sale recently on eBay for the low low price of $500!!! Not sure if it sold or not. The guy over at 6speed said he had a "hookup" to order them. You may want to try over there as well.

    There was talk over at 6speedonline about this (try a search over there). If I am not mistaken, this is not available as a tequipment, accessory, etc., purchase. It has to be optioned on the car during purchase or as a warranty replacement.

    The OBC hack is very common. First things first though, you need to have your dealer turn on the OBC with the PST2. Hopefully you have a good relationship with the dealer so he will turn it on gratis. There are pros/cons to the 4-stalk vs. dash switch install. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

    Ad, what's with the political slander? Thought this was a tech board? FYI, not a Bush supporter here (nor Kerry), just can't stand to see stupid political comments in places other than the OT forum. By the way, you are absolutely correct with not being angry about minor vandalism. It's just not worth it. It's comes with owning a P-Car more than some other marks.

    Loren, you are probably right on the 3rd radiator for me. It has been 115 this past week and I am sure for the next couple weeks. My only thought is thatwe are moving back to DC next year and probably wouldn't need the 3rd rad.

    there was a thread on this recently (forgot if it was here or over at rennlist.com) but this is something you want to stay away from! Don't you find it odd that there is not a picture of a P-Car in the eBay ad??? Caveat emptor.

    Actually I was referring the plastic cover ON the switch itself. I just heard from Sandy and got it all taken care of. Thanks for all you input guys! And many thanks to SANDY!!!

    I need to remove the faceplate from the FWL switch and the TT Spoiler switch (I am swapping them). Without breaking any tabs, etc., does anybody know how to remove/replace the covers? **I am referring to the thin rocker switch covers that have the picture of the spoiler up/down and the light that looks like a sun** Thanks, Dell
