    Hey Jenner, I think Don has the same front you are putting on. I would agree with Loren, Don is your guy. As for the 3rd radiator, do you see your temp in above average levels when you are driving around town or more importantly when you are tracking the car? That will help answer your question. Out here in Vegas I would definately install the 3rd RAD if I was going to live here longer than 1 more year. But since I am moving back to NoVa next summer I am going to pass on the 3rd RAD kit.     Thanks Loren. So for about $125 you got the software AND the cable required to hook up to the car. Did you just install the software on your laptop and then plug the laptop to the car?

    Thinking about purchasing an OBD tool so I can read the codes when the CEL comes on and be able to reset as well. What type do y'all reccomend and what should I expect to pay?

    Just my $.02 but I wouldn't even put on the "best" adhesive based kit EVEN if it were free. No matter how great they claim to be they still look like stick on crap. You will spend from 300-500 for a descent kit or more for the better ones OR...... you could spend just a bit more and do the most visible and impactful pieces in OEM parts and look GREAT! No to mention you can NEVER change it since that adhesive crap will be all over everything and you will not be able to get it back to original quality.

    No tix in five years. Then how does this pertain to you? You won't be charged higher premiums then. I buy my insurance based on claims service, customer service, and most importantly....LOW PREMIUMS! Not their political stance on an issue or the campaigning that is done for/against it. I am willing to bet that are for radar detectors being illegal b/c there has been research done that shows that in states where they are outlawed that instances of speed related accidents is lower. I think you let too much get to you. But then again that is your choice and that is what makes this country so great--our voice and choice. Cheers, :cheers:

    Whoa there. Sounds like somebody gets quite a few tickets? Wouldn't you penalize YOUR customers for speeding tickets? There is a high correlation b/t speeding and claims. Just don't speed foolishly. Remeber the old addage.....you break the rules, you pay the fines.

    Yes and no. Use the double sided tape that is already on there but it needs to have time to adhere properly. THe good news is that is DOES NOT have to been a totally flush fit (there may a few places where there is a mm or 2 of space between the car and the skirt). There are drains under the skirt where water escaped so no need to worry about water being trapped. Now on to your skirts. Did they come in Porsche Boxes? Do the have 996 part numbers on each? You SHOULD have gotten a baggie of clips AND screws in each box for installation! FYI: this is what comes in each box w/ each skirt in Aero Kit Type II 2x small part set (00004480165) Or in Aero Type I: 22 Countersunk sheetmetal screw, 4.8 x 13 16 U-clip n/a 2 Sheetmetal nut; St 4.8

    Dr.P has it right. You really need to ask around in your community. USAA just doubled out rates here in Vegas (16 years with them and NO accidents/tickets). Switched over to GEICO and saved 1/2 (right back to what USAA originally charged me). But especially insuring a PCar you really need to stick with the big compnaies and away from the fly by nights.

    If the guy you have locally claims to know what he is doing then is he going to guarantee his work? If so, then I see no reason to go for it. My guy locally did mine for 1/2 of what bumperplugs wants. Heck I bought my aluminum look rear center console (OEM part from the dealer) cheaper than they (bumperplugs) are charging to just paint it. In defense of BP, I hear they do great work but that is still no reason to overpay.

    I am getting ready to swap out my stock calipers to big reds and though if I am in there I might as well put in the braided steel brake lines ONLY if that makes sense. What are the PROS/CONS to this swap? Cost? Thanks! Dell

    I just did my 15K DIY and it was my first. VERY EASY and I saved a ton of cash...more $$$ for mods!!!! :jump:

    Thanks Tony. I just ordered my top and window and it is scheduled to go in next week as well. The dealer here in Vegas does the installs and as you could imagine they get ALOT of business out here in the scorching desert! Dell

    This may sound obvious but the very first time I ever tried to remove my headlights (to replace a bulb) I had the same problem. The problem was that I was turning the release the wrong direction (essentially I was locking it in more which gave it that lifting look). Try that.

    Well you overpaid by about $90. $1 for the paper and $4 for the postage would be right. Now I understand what you are talking about and I have seen a "COA" (I looked into it when I bought my car and realized what a crock $95 was) and it is nothing more than a gimmick to get suckers to pay $95 for. Back when it was in the $35 is was more reasonable. What difference does it make what options came on the car before OR after purchase? NONE. By the way, you really seem to be wrapped up in numbers. All MY996 was asking about was tips....NOT everything you got on your car plus the option plus what the MSRP for your car was plus etc etc etc.

    MY996, I think they sell for around 800 or so at the dealer (400+ a tip) but I found my on eBay some time ago and probably paid 1/2 that (400 for both). Hope it all turns out great for you. Let us know. Dell
