  1. 1. There is a template on the underside of the bumper. You will see it when you remove the bumper. 2. Use a jigsaw with a fine blade. I installed it a couple months ago and it is a PITA!
  2. If you don't have dust then the pads aren't working the way in which they were designed. Dust is a good thing but a PITA to constantly keep clean. It's a trade off. One more thing.....Your rotors should already be drilled on your 996 so I am puzzled why state you are "upgrading" your rotors. FYI.....your initial bite will NOT be better. Bite is a function of pad compound.

  5. So, then I torque it to 100Nm and the using a non-torque wrench tighten 1/4 turn more? Thanks again!
  6. So I have a M14 bolt. Does that mean it is a 14MM socket? Also, the tightening torque for the bolt is 100Nm (74 ftlb.) + 90 degrees. What exactly does that mean? I assume it is 100Nm and then at the "click" continue for 1/4 turn of the torque wrench? If so, then why not a more specific reading? Unless there is less than 1Nm in a 1/4 turn I don't understand. TIA for the help! Boy do I feel stupid :cursing:
  7. So my tequipment towing system came today and all the parts are accounted for EXCEPT inside the parts package I got 16 bolts instead of 8. However, they are 2 different sets of 8 bolts. I can't figure out why I would have received them. The ones with the black rubber washer around the bolt look EXACTLY like the ones I removed from the old bumper except longer (SEE ATTACHED PICTURE). BUT.......the other set of 8 bolts appear to be the same length but look different and have what appear to be loctite sprayed on them. ANY THOUGHTS????? I sure don't want to install the worng bolts and really HATE having leftover parts :cursing: TIA. Cheers, Dell

  9. Don't worry about it, don't feel like you are disrespecting at all. FYI...The residual was 29,800 and our tax rate here in NV is 7.25% Maybe they tinkered with the residual???
  10. Porsche. But the dealer had to take 6K off of the sticker to get that payment amount and zero down to work for us. So in reality we are paying an interest rate around 6.5% which is what we would have got at the bank for a traditional loan. So while Porsche Financial got 6.5%, the dealer had to loose 6K off profit. Either way, good deal for us. FYI.....the amount between invoice and MSRP on a V6 Cayenne is roughly 5.5K so by that logic I got the car at $500 below invoice and a 6.5% loan for 3 years with nothing to sell. I feel good about my purchase. I think what helped is that fact that we bought our 996CAB from the same guy and told him that we did NOT need a new SUV (we had a great ML430 that was under warranty still and drove like a champ) as well, we basically came in with the number $800 a month 36mos 12K/yr and zero down. He came back with that payment but like 3 or 4K down to which I said "these are my requirements, if you can't meet them, just let me know so we can go...I do NOT want my time wasted."
  11. I'll offer my $.02 into the fray. The reason we just leased our Cayenne is that we were NOT sure this is the SUV we wanted in the future and we just can't seem to keep our 3rd car for more than a couple years at a time. The lease allows us to drive it for 3 years (36 mos) and 12K a year in miles and that will be plenty of time to figure out if we really want one for a longer period of time and make sure we have the correct combo (e.g., engine size, options, color, etc.). We didn't have quite the knowledge that most have n leasing but what we did know is that we sut up the scenario as follows: **The lease payment needed to be equal to or less than what we would have paid our bank in a purchase (real) car payment. And NO it is not based on a 3 year traditional loan since a 3 year regular loan would mean I own the car after 3 years and on the lease if I wanted to own it I would have to either pay the residual amount or take out another loan. **We were going to put ZERO down **We estimated what the Cayenne would be worth on the backside of the term and figure out if our number meshed with theirs (residual). If it was equal to or GREATER than we did pretty good since we would have to sell it on our own and run the risk of being upside down in our loan. Not good. At the end of the day, we got a 55K Cayenne with ZERO down 36mos 12K/year for $800 a month. I think we did quite well. (comes out to about 2% INTEREST RATE on a 36 month loan).
  12. The Carrera spoiler (996 512 903 00 G2X) replaced the motorized spoiler. The Cup Aerokit I (pre facelift Taco wing) and the Cup Aero II (Blade on the MkII GT3) to provide optimal balanced downforce when fitted with the front. FYI...when you order the Carrera wing that replaces the motorized wing it comes with a small lip for the front to aid in a balanced downforce. Maybe Loren has the downforce figures
  13. Plain and simple....DOWNFORCE. You need to balance the front with the increased downforce on the rear.

  16. Not even worth it in my opinion. And I really don't think you would notice the difference. Just not worth the time and expense. Not to mention I made a little cash by selling the module.
  17. Didn't understand your post then. It sounded like you were looking for the module and you said you could secure it on eBay for $675. I know what the retail price is of the module since I sold it to antother member. Best of luck on your search.
  18. You may very well need to adjust the shift cable for reverse.
  19. Wow! $675 seems quite high. When I did the litronic upgrade in my car I sold the electronics (module, etc.) to another member here on Renntech for $100.
