  2. Any suggestions on finding an Indy? I just moved to a new area and am having some trouble finding anyone But the local dealer. The first time I went to the local Dealer, Main Line Porsche, the head of Service said he was glad I do not have a very old Porsche becuase they really make theit $ off the cars that are 1995 and newer. This is also the dealer who is looking to charge me 350 for the battery and install. I have used Bill and his team a couple of times this past year for my '02 996 (state inspection. annual maint., tire work) w/ good results. Dougherty Automotive Service Inc. 720 East Nields Street West Chester, PA 19382 Tele: 610-692-6039 Fax: 610-692-2986
  3. 2002 Cab. Driver’s seat makes a groaning noise on occasion when I move the seat back. I used a light coat of petroleum jelly on the track with no improvement. Is this noise a symptom of a bigger problem or one that can be solved w/ more thorough lube? THANKS
  4. While topping off with 8oz of Mobil 1 0w40, after 3500 miles, I noticed the yellow mayo like sludge on the oil fill tube and cap. My 2002 with 22,500 miles gets only short 12 mile/20min. runs twice a day M-Fri. in stop and go traffic. Will switching to a different approved brand of oil help eliminate/reduce the condensation or is my cure only more frequent oil changes and longer times within operating temp? Thanks!
  5. How does the removable hardtop make the electrical connection for the rear window defogger? This is the first time I am using the hardtop since I purchased the car in June. 2002 C2 CAB. THANKS!
  6. Although your problem may be more complex, I have noticed that my 4yr old Motorola cell phone was causing static, hum and pop through the speakers when I placed it the storage area below the radio in my '02 Cab. Additionally, the problem continued to occur to a lesser extent when I moved the phone into the center armrest even when the radio was off. My wife who drives the car M-Fri to/from work rarely has her phone on and has not reported any static.
  7. Hello, I know it may be odd thinking about winter tires in July but I like to plan ahead. I recently purchased a ’02 C2 Cab, Tip, PSM, 18”. I am thinking about the TireRack set up of 17” Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 w/ the Turbo Twist knockoff rims. Any suggestions about the quality of various winter tires or the fact that I will be dropping diameter? I think another complete set of wheels may be the easiest way to manage winter driving here in Philly. THANKS JP
  8. Thank you all for your replies. For the record...I did receive two tags with BAR CODES, one of which I believe the dealer stapled to the Maint. book probably when he did the delivery prep. I am also beginning to think the other key was never programmed. I'll find out for sure when I visit my new service shop. JP
  9. Recently I was blessed with the ability to purchase a 2002 C2 Cab TIP with 18K miles. The original private owner gave me 2, two button remote keys and 1 valet key. He advised me that one of the remotes did not unlock the car or the trunk automatically but the key does work manually. The battery is fresh and I did the reset. The remote still does not work and produces a single red illuminated light on the remote when pressed where as the other functioning remote produces two rapid red lights when pressed. I would welcome any advice. Thanks!
