  1. Mobil 1 has been substantially reformulated and is not the same oil as the Mobil 1 we knew and loved. It now has no ZDDP, which is very necessary for a hard-driven flat-tappet engine like an SC's. I use Brad Penn, as do a lot of older-Porsche operators now.
  2. The rule of thumb is that you should have one bar of oil pressure per 1,000 rpm when the oil is warm. i.e. "revved" means little to me, but if you get four bars at 4,000 rpm, that's normal.
  3. You don't need to remove the bolts. Just open it with the fishing line or string. (What you're doing with the string, by the way, is simply "catching" the latch and pulling it open the same way the cable would. Can't remember whether you pull toward the front of the car or the rear--I'm too lazy to go out in the driveway and check which way the latch opens--but just try both and one will work.) Frankly, I carry in the glovebox a foot-long piece of nylon cord with a finger-loop in each end in case of just this eventuality. The question is not will the cable break but _when_ will the cable break...
