  1. Hey JFP....thanks for the response.....I have done the "roll up and hold" for 10 seconds a few times....no help.....also when the car is running...the window ALWAYS drops withe the inside or outside door handle. Another clue.....when I open the door, and the window does NOT drop....if I turn the key on with the door still open, it will drop. almost seems like a loose or bad connection, and turning the key on gives it a "boost".
  2. Ok, I know, not another window drop thread......anyway here goes. (I think I have read them all.....seems nobody has the exact same issue. 2003 996 coupe, passenger window (sometimes) will not drop the 1/2" when I pull on the outside OR inside handle.....don't think both micro switches went bad at the same time. Doesn't happen all the time, when it does work, works fine, drops 1/2" or so (normal drop)....no noises, stays down when I let go.........I have replaced a regulator in my boxster, so I know what that acts like.....not it. When it doesn't work, no noises, but the interior light DOES come on (when you lift the handles)...also, window does go up and down normally with the switch. Now here's the kicker......this started AFTER I disconnected the battery, and If I turn the key on, the window seems to drop normally, and if I park the car after a drive and try it it works.....if I come back to the car an hour later there is a chance it will not work. (yes I have done the window re-learn steps numerous times) HELP!
  3. Hi All....couple quick questions for anyone that has done this.....spent a couple hours scouring the posts....just can't find the answer. Installing Double Din......I am disconnecting the factor amp and NOT adding one (using only the head unit amp for now). I am keeping the speakers and rewiring directly to head unit. Two questions: -Do I wire the "dash" speakers with the door speakers? -am I using the sub? or eliminating?....do I have to rewire anything in the sub box because each speaker is only 1 ohm? TIA - -D
  4. Just make sure you get the correct year for your car....97-2001 (I think?) use the same cluster (white, grey, blue plugs) 2002 and up, different cluster. I have a 2000 base, swapped out a 99 white face.....very easy swap...just need a torx bit....the mileage is stored on your cluster, so your car will have the mileage of the new one....need to go to porsche to have your correct mileage transferred. I think the following is just an issue with my car, because I have a 2.7 ltr, and my new cluster is from a 2.5: cons: - lower redline...mine had 7200....new cluster shows 6700 ( I think) (I don't think the redline actually changed...just shows it but, stranger things have happened.....have not tested that....) -my cruise control will only work if i turn it on before I start the car....then it works fine Pros: -outside temperature display is "on" on my new cluster...old one was not. That's all I have.....very easy to do....
  5. I found it......if anyone wants to know....it is directly underneath the driver side intake "plenum".....with the line going into the the intake, right after the throttle body towards the passenger side of the car.
  6. Yeah, I have gone through all the evap threads....that diagram doesn't tell me much about where it enters the manifold......If I knew that, I could find it.... Thanks for your help!!!!!
  7. Help!....can someone tell me where the Evap Purge valve is on the boxster (2000-986). I have seen the diagram where it is located on the 996, just doesn't seem to be in the general area. Is the line going into the Throttle Body?....If I knew that, I could find it. Thanks in advance! 2000 986 2.7 5-sp.
  8. Any updates to this Problem?....would greatly appreciate it....having the same issue.....get the cel (p0455) about once per tank.....when I remove the gas cap, no sound.....no pressure. I replaced the cap, inspected the canister behind the wheel well, removed some of the fittings, cleaned, reinstalled. Thanks in advance! 2000 Boxster 2.7
  9. Thanks for the info Loren....I appreciate your help!
  10. Hey guys, quick question....when I remove my gas cap, there is no pressure....should I be hearing a "woooosh" sound? Also.....I have an error code P0455 "Fuel Tank Ventilation System (Major Leak)". Replaced the gas cap, not it. Here's the thing, I only get the CEL when the gas tank is half full and car is idling.......I can reset the light immediately, and the CEL will not come on again until I fill up, and the tank gets to half full. It never comes on twice per tank..... So any ideas?....I hate to throw parts at .....evap purge valve?....carbon control valve? Anyone have the same situation? I did check the canister behind the wheel well....everything looks good, can't tell really though....no loose connections, everything looks "new" back there. Thanks! 2000 Boxster base 2.7 71k
  11. Hi Loren, I would like a radio code if possible 2000 Boxster Becker CDR220 Type: 4462 48/98 ?????? Ser: X5029631 Thanks! Dar
  12. Possible coil bad/loose/loose connector on that side?......Loose spark plug...these are all easy to check and won't cost a thing!..(to check anyway!)
