  1. lol scott, i have never seen my engine, thats the first time i have ever saw it... cheers
  2. the noise sounds like a grinding of metal and when i fill my tank with petrol then get in and restart it i hope god it wont make the noise. Mickymouse that name rings a bell, i am guessing scot from 986forum? i had a go at the rear lights today, they look good! cheers
  3. I must admit ever since i waited for the oil gauge to go down and turned the key quickly i have never had that noise back. I had a porsche 944 and i could never start the thing first time then i learned how to start it, by slightly dipping the clutch and slowly hitting the gas while starting and it started first time every time. Honest, keep trying what i said it will work, or contact porsche and they will tell you how to do it, but there is one thing i cant get my head around. They say the boxster should only be started at 70o But how do you get that without having the engine ticking over? I mean how do you get the temp gauge warm without starting the car up.?
  4. yer i get this noise too sometimes. I have noticed it more when i start my boxtser then turn it off then try to start it again then that horrible noise comes on. I dont think its a problem really given the amount of owners that get this noise, i know its horrible and sounds like something is grinding but i know a few owners who also get this noise also. I also agree it seems to happen when there are people around and its very embarrassing, however it doesnt happen as much now after porsche told me a little trick. 1. get in the car 2. put the key into the ignition and turn it to radio mode. 3. wait for the little counter to go down. 4. then start it on a short fast turn not slow 5. off you go porsche says its amazing how many people dont know the correct way to start a boxster and after doing what they told me i have never had the noise back. try it post back if it works..
  5. I bought a set from ebay from my porsche cab however i changed my mind and installed them into my bmw m3 cab instead. they are fantastic. I ordered a set of built in sun visor screens a dvd player/sat nav and also screens for the head rests.. they play dvd, svd, cdwr, mp3, mpg, mpg2, jpg, divx, and lots more... all for around £460.00 plus £70 shipping the picture quality is excellent and sound is perfect and the seller even sent little porsche entertainment system graphics for the screens which look superb!, however i didnt fit them as it would look funny in a bmw. bought them from ebay a few month ago. I also got them fitted for £190.00 which was great.
  6. I bought my boxster in 1998 new and it now has 60k miles on it with no problems at all apart from a leaking rad caused by myself. Its been upgraded since then... sure there some horror stories out there but you find that will all cars. I drive my car "HARD" and i mean hard.. i cant help shooting through the gears for the engine notes everytime.
  7. Thankyou for your first class instructions that helped me take my bumper off ect... I done this today which was easy and was amazed what i found... so many leaves on the rads... a leaking hose and a really bad bent bar. I knew i had problems as my wheel cover was cracked slightly, but i found a drip and a bent bar from an impact that i thought was slight. Anyways it looks like a jub clip is broke so i will order one from porsche tomorrow along with a new wheel cover and ect... I suspected something was wrong as the water light was comming on all the time and it turns out its leaking when under pressure due to a damaged jub clip. heres a few pics below, again great intructions! also it lets you polish and clean areas that cant be reached.
