  1. Hi guys. My key no longer remotely opens the trunk. I've replaced the battery. Does anyone have an idea what's going on?
  2. The trunk release actuated buy the key is erratic, it doesn't always work. I've changed the battery with no change. Where's the sensor. I notice I see the RF flickering on the dash, is this the sensor?
  3. My passenger side cooling fan doesn't come on. It works with an external power supply. I've checked the fuse. Where's the relay? Is the temperature switch the same for both fans?
  4. I have a small coolant leak that seems only to appear after I've had the heat on. It does show at the right front. Where is the take off for the heat? 98 2.5l
  5. There's a guy at 5 and Crown Valley. He's reasonable and competent. John's Foreign Car Service 27635 Forbes Rd Suite J Laguna Niguel, CA 92677
  6. It "bangs" the shift between 2-3 allot. It's not bad, just not what I'm used to. Is there anything I can check? I had the service done at 90K, it's now at 120K.
  7. No. I thought the Tiptronic memory could be re set and I'd like to do that.
  8. How do you do it? I've searched with no luck.
  9. I have a 98 Tip. Lately it seems to bang 2-3 and some times 3-4. It used to be very smooth. The car has around 120000 miles. The Tip was serviced at 90000. Any ideas? I was just reading a thread about motor mounts. What do you think?
  10. Look where He's from. We'll just chalk it up to natuaral selection.
  11. What can I use for coolant? I don't mind using the Porsche product it's just the dealer is 30 minutes away. The Walmart is 5.
  12. How about the Gas fill hose/pipe? Is there any guidance in removing that? I need to get my hard pipe A/C line out and may need to remove that also.
  13. Thanks. I thought there was some kind of pin grommet thing going on but didn't want to force it. For this I think I'll have to donate now.
  14. Anyone know how the charcoal canister is secured to the car? I've removed the one nut but something is still holding it in.
  15. I need to replace the hard pipe AC lines running front to rear. One line goes up into the front trunk area. I need to get that out of there and down through the passenger wheel well. Has anyone ever done this before? It looks as though it may be easier if I get the charcoal canister out. Has anyone ever done this? Thanks
  16. 1998 106000 miles. No problems. Performed the scheduled maintenance at 95000 or when ever it was due.
  17. For those of you who installed their own Aero kits. How did you do the side skirts? What kind of adhesive did you use?
  18. I've read about this fault comming up as a result of a problem with the seat belt switch. Can anyone explain what the fault in the seat belt switch is? It's comming in after 100K miles. Could it be dirty contacts?
  19. Same with me. I have a 98 with at the time 98K. Same symptoms stumbles when cold when warm runs fine. Disconnect the MAF and run it for a while chances are the only code you'll get is for no MAF signal. You may want to try to clean it but in my case it didn't work. What tool are you using to get your data?
  20. Do you mean to say you have a Porsche scan tool?
  21. I'm Trouble shooting 1123 and 1125 CEL. I checked fuel pressure and fuel regulator vaccum. Both were right on. The only thing left is checking for leaking injectors. Anyone know how I might be able to do that?
  22. Anyone have the ability to down load a graph of the signal their MAF sensor is putting out? Could you please do it and either post or E mail me the file? I'm trying to trouble shoot a CEL and I'm trying to figure out if it's due to a degraded sensor. I have a Davis car chip, the flow appears to be all over the place. I would expect it to be fairly steady. One problem may be related to the car chips scale. Basically the whole graph is 0.0 lbm/sec, so although there are alot of peaks and valleys in reality it may look pretty flat if the Y axis was say 0-1 LBM/sec. I'd like to see what other people are seeing.
  23. I'm pretty sure I need an MAF. Where's the best price? MY98. I've been driving all week with the MAF disconected, the car ran great. I hooked it back up today and the car ran awfull. I did try cleaning it, I think that's part of it. I did this to try and trouble shoot a CEL, 1123 and 1125. I didn't get any w/o the MAF and as I say the car ran great. Before with the MAF plugged in it would stumble when cold around 2K and would stumble on hard acceleration at around 5K. W/O smooth all the way.
