i took it to the dealership, but any ideas on where i would be able to find a PIWIS tester anyways?

okay...so really weird issue. after filling up at the gas station, car tries to start..rpms go to about 2000 and then engine dies. i have to sit and manually rev the engine and keep the rpms above 3000 or else it will die. after it idles on its own...car runs like normal. drive it everyday with no issues for about three weeks, CEL still on..but car drives fine so i think no big deal. then i go to fill it up...car wont start again at the gas station. this is immediately after i fill up-which is really random. after getting her to idle on her own after a few minutes of cranking and revving...runs fine (until presumably i have to fill it up again). i filled it to full both times. ANY IDEAS?!? this is random..

sorry to be somewhat repetitive..the CEL still hasn't gone off and the engine seems to be holding gears...it will hold D4 at 2500rpm or so and unless i accelerate quickly it will not move into 5th. anyone else experience this issue? thanks...

does anyone know how to clear the CEL to see if the loose fuel cap solved the problem? the car seems to drive fine but the CEL is still on. thanks in advance.

so i was driving yesterday and the CEL came on. drives fine..but i was low on gas and read that sometimes that brings the CEL on. this morning i go to get gas and as soon as i am done, the car wont start. doesnt even get above 200rpm when trying to turn. then the battery warning light comes on. i got it jumped and drove to autozone...where they pulled the code P0441. apparently a loose fuel cap (it was loose :/). we tested the battery and he said it was fine, 12 volts and enough charge. i started it and turned it off 4 or 5 times and it had no problem. anyone have any idea why it would not start at the gas station? its 4 years old and still on the original battery. and also any insight on CEL P0441 would be greatly appreciated. thanks. another random note is..sometimes when the car isnt warmed up-the sound system wont work. ill have to drive to where i am going then come back and start it up and it usually works by then. is this battery power related?

do i just use windex or soap/water...pretty much anything? do i have to remove the bumper to clean the backside of the sensor?

my 04 cayenne S is also having some park assist issues. when i slow down sometimes it just beeps and goes to red when i am not close to anything. how do i clean the sensors...and if there is a bad one, how do i find out which one and how to replace? is it a possible DIY? thanks....

just bought an 04 cayenne s. cant speak about the other years, but i ran into the ignition coils issue, had the gas struts for the trunklid replaced and the parking brake actuator replaced. the engine is really great (once the coils were fixed) and all of this was done in the last month of warranty. i also have a problem with the park assist going crazy for no reason..but i have yet to clean the sensors.

just made the change as well on my black 04 cayenne s. very happy with the results, the top torx screw is a pain...but eventually it comes out. i tried for about 20min to put it back in on either side and just decided to screw it. after putting in the wheel liner and the bottom torx screw, i figured the odds were that it wouldnt fall out of place. just what i did...fwiw. -
I agree, sorta. If you are mostly highway I can believe 3 times, with a mix of city/highway 2 times may be more advisable. Dont pay, do it yourself if i buy the pads and rotors to diy, i can do this without bleeding the brakes? after reading this forum, i am buying the hawk performance cermanic pads off tirerack.com $130, and i dont know if i need to replace the rotors yet. I am buying a micrometer off ebay to check when i take the wheels off. i have no experience with car repair. any advice or pertinent info is greatly appreciated.

Unbelievable...I called the dealership to see how much it would cost if they did this change. Turns out, the car has ONE WEEK of warranty left! I am going to get an oil change while it is there and they look at the ignition coils, plugs and catalytic converter. If there is anything else I could ask the dealer to do in my last week of warranty, PLEASE let me know so I can get that looked at. I want to thank everyone for their help..this board has been great for helping me with this issue.

Should I get it towed to a dealer instead of letting a non dealer mechanic fix this? I can not thank you guys enough for your prompt help. This has been weighing on me since I just bought it. But thanks again guys..I really hope it is just the coils. That would not be much of an issue at all.

I took it into a shop and they said the OBD codes say I need coils and fuel injectors for cylinders 1-4 to be replaced. I was given a ball park for estimates because the Porsche dealership is closed for parts today. $1000 for the 4 injectors and 4 coils $500 for 6-7 hours of labor at $70-$80. This is NOT a dealership, but just a BMW/Porsche repair shop. Should I go to the dealership for this type of engine repair or is this something that is pretty frequent? Is there anything I could have done to have prevented this problem? Thanks for your reply.

so i just bought this '04 Cayenne S last week....! it has been a dream to drive, until yesterday when i backed it out and noticed there was some abnormal vibration while idling and low rpms. I drove it at low rpms for a little while and then the check engine light came on. I drove it right home and then waited until this morning to drive it to AutoZone to get the OBD codes read. P0011 P0304 These were the two codes that came up, some probably causes were low fuel pressure (and the computer said 50mls to empty), so I filled her up and then as soon as I pulled out, there was significant knocking and throttle blipping. The check engine light started to BLINK and so I immediately pulled over and parked it. What are some probable causes for this? I checked the oil this morning and it looked a little dark, but it was full. 2004 Porsche Cayenne S w/ around 42,000 miles on it. summation: -how much is porsche roadside assistance as it needs to be towed to the dealership? -does anyone on this board change their own oil? -what are the possible causes for these OBD codes?? thanks in advance, i just hope this all works out. if its a bad engine, it will be a nightmare..:(
