  1. I believe mine was definitely the tire circumference mismatch. Doesn't have to be very much of a difference. I rotated them once they were worn pretty evenly and haven't had the problem since...knock wood
  2. My manual shift works intermittently and after driving for 20-30 minutes P-R-N-D will all light up. Lights go out after car is turned off and restarted. Tiptronic on steering wheel works fine and will shift into manual when selector is in manual, but intermittently switches back to automatic. Sometimes, manual works fine with no problem. I replaced the trim cover even though it wasn't broken and it didn't change anything. Durametric gives me "1045 Selector lever switch - Implausible signal, test conditions are not-completed, fault is currently active and causing a DTC light" Is this code for the selector switch on the side of the transmission or the microswitch at the shift lever? Any other suggestions?
  3. Thanks for the info. They're all the same size, 275/40R20 and all have pretty new tread, but I had to replace the front pair after a cut and tires matching the rears were discontinued.
  4. My AC blower bearings need a little lube and I've dropped the blower out, but don't know how to get it out of the case. I've seen some older posts that talk about it, but never say how to get it out. I definitely don't want to break it!
  5. Thanks for the reply. Not sure what it is. I replaced cooling line a few years ago and the tank last year. If i get it figured, I'll let you know
  6. I have a 2003 TT and recently the PSM traction control light will flash briefly (maybe 3-5 seconds) and the engine drops power, no other indicators, no check engine light, nothing....light stops flashing and engine power comes back. If i turn the PSM off, i have no problems, but with ~4,000 rpm shift points in auto and Borla exhausts, the neighbors are getting tired of me. I was by my mechanic's shop the other day on an unrelated issue and he hooked up the Porsche computer and there were no stored faults in the PSM Management. Anyone seen this? Any ideas?
  7. I had the same issue in my '03 TT...thought it was the vacuum pump itself because it was whining...turns out it was the hose from the pump to the booster. I learned this the hard way by replacing the pump itself. The part number for the hose is 955 355 577 51. If you go to one of the parts websites with parts diagrams, it's #13 under the Brake section, subsection Brake Master Cylinder Brake Booster Vacuum Line Vacuum Pump. There's a bunch of different part numbers but this is the one for the Turbo. as for replacement, it's not that difficult. I mean it is a pain in the butt like almost anything with a Cayenne Turbo, but it's less challenging than a lot of things. First, remove the engine bay trim and then You've got to remove the windshield wipers and cowl. Be extremely careful with the wiper removal, mostly the driver side because it's extremely easy to crack the windshield, if you're not careful...again, learned this one from experience. If it's difficult to remove, i'd recommend a puller. Once you the get cowl off, you can follow the hose to the brake booster. One of the most difficult things was getting the hose in the rubber grommet in the booster. You really need hands the size of a 10 year old with the strength of a grown man. One last thing, if you're not a contributing member, become one and start ordering parts from Sunset through the Renntech site. On this hose alone I saved probably 50% of what you'll find from the other Porsche parts websites. I've saved tons of money over the last couple of years. I get parts cheaper than my mechanic. Typically, you're not going to get them overnight unless they're in stock, but if you don't need them quick, this is absolutely the best place to go.
  8. Thanks, Loren. I'll break down and drop my Porsche mechanic next week!
  9. Does anyone know if it's possible to reset an "Air Bag Fault" without the PIWIS? I had remove the front seat to pull the carpet back and drain the lake from the dreaded clogged sunroof drain and now i have the fault. I only get the light, i don't get the common P1217 code that's attributed to the underseat connector.
  10. Has anyone actually replaced the front sunroof drains on a Cayenne? I've got a 2003 Turbo and like many of us, have had a clogged sunroof drain and a lake underneath the front carpet. I removed the front seat and peeled the carpet and foam back and let it sit in the sun for a few days and it finally dried out. When i started inspecting the drain, i noticed that mine has a flattened area where it turns downward from underneath the headliner to down the A-pillar. It's still clogged at the end, but i need to replace it because it is too stiff to return to its original round shape. Where do the drains actually exit? I removed the wheel well and i see one drain that i can stick my finger, but i believe this is the cowl drain based on other photos. Does anyone have photos depicting the different drain locations (i.e. cowl, AC evaporator, sunroof drains). I've read a lot of the forums about cleaning the drains, but haven't seen any dealing with replacement. Any help would be much appreciated!
  11. I think i may have answered my own question. I think it should be 948-107-215-52 which is pictured in the valve cover diagram. Please let me know if you agree. As a side note, i would recommend to anyone that is replacing the coolant pipes under the manifold to go ahead and replace the three that come off the back of the engine. I had a failure with 955-106-323-50 and you still have to remove the manifold to get to them. I think they're a bigger pain than the coolant pipes, but at least they're all new now. Thanks, Van
  12. I'm looking for a part number for what I believe is a vent line for the turbo charger for a 2003 Cayenne Turbo. In the Porsche parts diagram for the turbochargers, i think what i'm looking for is #25, but it says "see Group 1/03/01". Not sure what that means. I was replacing the coolant hoses that come off the back of the coolant hoses under the manifold (the aluminum replacements were done a couple of years ago). I'm not sure if this was already broken, or if i broken when removing the manifold. Either way, it is very britle. I've attached a couple of pictures showing the part (wide angle and closeup). Thanks in advance for your help. Behind manifold pic.pdf Behind manifold pic-wide view.pdf
  13. Loren, I'm looking for a part number for the vacuum line that goes to the brake booster on a 2003 Cayenne Turbo. On the Porsche parts diagram it is shown as #13, but there are 5 different part numbers associated with this number and I'm not sure which is correct. Thanks, Van
