loren, locking defrential means LSD right?

What does the wheel gap on the ROW M030 look like..because i've still got a fair bit of gap...unless of course it doesn't really lower height, just different springs and dampning, but that would be absurd.
-
d*amn man, you're a freaky genius with porsches.
i didn't know that all this stuff was optional.
i'm guessing that the 030 is the US spec M030 that people often refer to on forums rite?
am i correct in also assuming that the EuroM030 has a different ride height and springs?

WOW guys, that's some really impressive info you've managed to gather!
thanks a lot!

my option sticker says the following:
C36 030 XSC X54 X70
X71 X97 X98 139 220
222 224 236 340 375
376 413 424 425 446
490 859 680 896 983
09991
what does all that mean? they can't all be options installed because a quick glance at the inside of my car will tell anyone that its pretty sparse.
its a MY99 Carrera if that makes a difference.
can someone please help decode this?
thanks

i believe that Brey-Krauss and Carnewal all have oil upgrade kits that solve the problem... brey krauss' isn't that expensive either.
you can check their site.

did u install aftermarket exhaust or bypass pipes? after i put mine in i fels a deadzone in the pedal that i don't rememeber being there before.
might be somehting to do with reduced backpressure?
-
any well stocked hardware store should carry that stuff. otheriwse autozone or pep boys?
-
HenryV, does your parts listing program also give you MSRP's and whatnot?
-
btw: rayGT... the racers group has carbonfiber mirrors for a 996 for 699 for the pair. they don't come with the mechanism in them but i figure u can take them outta ur old mirror and pocket the savings.

The "retail" prices I have (as of Dec 2004) are:996 731 619 30 Left Door Mirror (Carbon)996 731 620 30 Right Door Mirror (Carbon)
There does not appear to be any special "RS" mounting hardware in the parts list.
Loren, do you know how much porsche charges for the mirrors? I'd imagine its quite a bit since their markup on CF is rediculous.
996 731 619 30 Left Door Mirror (Carbon) $966.24
996 731 620 30 Right Door Mirror (Carbon) $966.24
It pays to shop around - try Sunset Imports (link at top of the page). They sell at dealer cost plus 15% handling and shipping cost -- AND -- no sales tax.
that's a sweet deal...do they ship to canada? (i'd imagine porsche canada wouldn't be too happy about that)

There is apparently a small air dam placed just after the air inlets on the rear deck on the new GT3 RSR. Anyone have a part number for this guy or availability? Gert is apparently selling this item as part of a package including the CF rear wing and a few other upgrades to the air box ect.. The package is quite expensive, I and a few others are just interested in the small dam.
Tnx
you wouldn't happen 2 have a pic would you as i'm not quite sure which part you're talking about. if you can get me a pic i can ask my friend to look it up in his PET CD.

I've decided to tae the plunge and start doing most of the minor work by myself. What tools will be needed (sockets, screwdrivers etc etc...) to do most of the work properly. I'm sure there's probably some stuff I don't have and I hate being stuck in the middle of a job because i don't have the right tools.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
