  1. Hi everybody! I was wondering if it's possible to switch steering wheels between CS 2004 (multifunctional wheel) and CS 2008 (non-multifunctional). I would like to have the multifunctional wheel on the newer car, since it didn't come with it originally (and I have both of the cars so no problem there). Is the wiring on the 2008 model ready and set up for the multifunctional wheel or is this just going to be another headaching project? Also, will the 2004 model accept getting suddenly a non-multifunction wheel? Regards, SOH
  2. Thanks for the very quick reply. I'm looking into what suits my needs. Hopefully I'll get some more understanding on the informations and guides available before purchasing. Service manuals and TSBs work hand in hand - sometimes both are needed to solve problems, identify issues, or install new accessories.
  3. I'm also interested. I'm just curious about one thing first. What is the difference between the Porsche Workshop Manual and info from you and the TSBs (Technical Service Bulletin)? Is everything in the TSB also covered in the Porsche WSM plus more or am I missing the point? I'm mainly interested in info about the interior/exterior body parts, removal instructions and so on. Which one (the TSBs or your goodies) should suit better? There are no "aftermarket" repair/service manuals. There are the Porsche factory workshop manuals, OBDII manuals but Porsche has not printed them in about 5 years. If you want service manuals, part information and more send me an email or PM and can help you. I have attached a small sample for you to check out.
  4. Thanks for the replies. However, the Porsche dealer told me that for a handy man this could be manageable, was hoping not going the a workshop. A friend of mine who works at a VW workshop and has replaced similar locks in a Touareg will help me, hope the process doesn't differ so much in the Cayenne. Is the routine covered in the TSBs (access by becoming a contributing member) or the Porsche Workshop Manual (from Porschelibrarian)? Any help is much appreciated, I don't want to hurt my baby.
  5. Hi there! I'm going to remove the driver's door panel in order to get access to the door lock, which needs to get replaced (told so by authentic Porsche dealer) because the car always "sees"/identifies the door as closed, even though it's open. I already have a new lock, part number 955 531 015 07. Has anyone removed the door panel and/or opened up the driver's door? What about replacing the door lock? I'm asking because I don't want to go into a rush and maybe break some plastic objects or bend something etc. Any advices, pictures or drawings/diagrams/blueprints? Sincerely.
  6. Same problem here on a Cayenne S (MY2004), replaced them myself in less than an hour =) Very easy to do, access to the horns (which are placed inside of the front bumper) is from the front wheel arches (just a few screws to loose). Lower tone on the left, higher on the right. Two wires to each horn, earth from the body isn't so good (at least on my car). Good luck!
  7. Sorry for the delay, have been offline for a while. The kit was something that was installed for me. One ballast was installed in the housing itself (on the back cover of the opening) and the other one was installed under the housing, in a little space there (and holes drilled into the housing for wires and of course sealed completely afterwards). Works like a charm. Very good looking when the high beam is on beside the low beam, two blue-ish beams instead of the original one =) SOH
  8. Hi there! I know I may be light years behind you in answering, but anyway, somebody else might find this useful. My Cayenne S (MY2004) has a retrofitted Bi-Xenon kit instead of the original halogen, fully working. Inside of each housing are two units for the high and low beam respectively. Every work was done inside the housing, that is, you can take the housing out of the car and do all the wiring work on your kitchen table =) The back covers fit back on so no humidity is able to slip in, very clean work. Hope this becomes useful for someone.
  9. I've had similar problems on my Cayenne S MY04 (US version), that is no lights showing up on opening the driver's door. I figured it out that the car doesn't see the door as open when it is. It sees it as closed. But when I put it half-shut (half-closed) the lights come up, the "door open" bell chimes and so on. So, this is how the car "sees" the drivers door in my case (from closed door to open): Closed (when the door is closed), open (for the little part of a second when the door is being opened), closed (when the door is open). The Porsche service center said that the locking on the driver's door needed to be changed in order to fix that (haven't done it though). Maybe it helps. If not, good luck =)
