ON the 2009 turbo I picked up I was struck to see that it didn't have the aux port or satillite radio. I would love to have both but at least an Aux port so I can at least listen to my music on my I phone. I do have blue tooth so I can use the phone. Interesting that a car that expensive doesn't come with that stuff standard but Porsche does like its option lists and associated costs. Can the factory parts be installed to at least pick up the aux function or is there a good aftermarket option? Appreciate any and all advice!

I don't think I have turned the car off with the turn signal engaged. I know the radar detector is on a switched circuit so its not tied into the lights also.

I just picked up a 2009 Turbo, 33K miles. The car is in pristine condition looks almost brand new. One item has come up. Several times when turning off the car I get a message that the parking lights are on, when they aren't. Doesn't happen everytime but has cropped up. Any ideas, bad headlight switch? I am going to double check but it may occur after I have had the driving lights on, so I am going to try to see if there is a correlation. Only mod to the car is a passport radar detector which has already saved my wallet some pain. Any idea on place to start looking at?

torn cabriolet window seal

I did some research and you can't buy the seal from Porsche you have to by the frame piece and seal. It would cost over $400 to fix a piece of torn rubber. I love my car but sometimes Porsche's pricing is insane. Thank god they make black duct tape. -
2002 C4 Cabriolet Any one replace the seal on the convertible top. Mine tore on the passenger side where the small rear window comes up.

I did pull my and clean up the contacts and the switch started working again without a hitch. I am guessing that you will have the same luck as they get a little corosion and then won't work. I didn't have to buy a new switch and it was a pretty easy repair.

2002 C4 Cabriolet I replaced the original cassette radio with a CDR 220 (cd) radio. Everything worked great for months now all of a sudden the radio won't shut off automatically when you turn the car off and remove the key. You can turn the radio off manually but wondering why this problem has popped up.

FIGURED IT OUT. MAN MY EYES ARE BAD. GOT THE RADIO OUT AND WILL SUBMIT SERIAL NUMBER IN CORRECT POST TO GET CODES. -
2002 C4 with tape deck radio. Bought the keys to remove the radio and cant' figure out where to insert them. I did a search and can't find a picture any where on how to do this. Feel like an idiot because I know this has to be easy. Need to swap out the radio for the CDR 220 I bought so I can plug in and get serial number. I got the serial number from the side of the CDR 220 and submitted that to get help with the radio codes but was told I have to get them off of the radio face. I have to swap out the radio and get power to it before I can do that and can't figure out how to use the "keys" to get the old radio out. Does someone have a picture of where to put the keys.

996 tiptronic upshifting poorly

This is a new problem so I will look for these items. Car has 56K miles and I have only owned for 9 months so don't know full repair history. Was considering having the 60K service done a little early before I drive the car after winter is over. I am aware of a couple of companies that sell systems for reading codes so I thought I would pick up one so I can stay on top of things better. Thanks for the advice. It gives me a place to start. -
2002 c4 tiptronic. Noticed problems with delayed upshifts. Particularly noticable if you pull away briskly and there is a pronounced delay in upshifting when you get off the gas. Car hangs in gear before upshifting to next gear for up to 10 to 15 seconds. Any help with why this is happening and how to diagnose?

anyone recommend a good vendor for purchase of interior dye to restore leather seats for Porsches?

My 2002 C4 Cab could really use the seats freshened. The leather is getting pretty scratched up. Is this a replacement job, if so who is good source for new unholstery. If not any recomendations in St. Louis area on someone who can freshen the seats with a redye? Thanks for any help provided.

If the only problem is with the amp draining the battery then sounds like the circuit that is supposed to open isn't operating properly. I had this problem with an Alpine amp and the stereo store put in a very inexpensive relay that opened the circuit until it detected that the stereo was turned on and I didn't need to buy a new amp. Maybe a work around that won't cost very much. Just a thought

How much would a 77 930 turbo be worth in very good condition? Assume there is quite a bit one can do to spice them up.

In the last 6 months I bought a 2002 C4 Cabriolet w tiptronic. Love the car and my first Porsche. Bothers me that my wife loves to drive the car which means its not scary enough. I would like to also get an air cooled turbo with manual tranny. Not looking for some specialty model but what advice on best of breed for the air cooled years can someone give me. I would assume that the engine would have been in its most refined state near the end of its run before the water cooled engines came on line but don't know enough to understand if that was a stupid statement. Advice?

Installing headers and the bolts from the header to the cats broke. Can these studs be driven out of the cat flange and then just use bolts and nuts?

2002 c4 Cabriolet Tiptronic I got the backup lights working! The multifunction switch is attached to the shifter on the 2002 tiptronic. The switch is on the drivers side of the shifter and has two wire harnesses connected to it in the back. There are two screws one on the top front and one on the bottom rear of the switch. The one on the bottom rear is behind the two wire connector which is also for the back up lights. I took the switch off and cleaned it with electrical cleaner clicked it on and off and now the switch works and I have reverse lights. Saved $180 bucks in the process.

Have to pull the console to replace the Ebrake switch anyway so will take a look and see what I can find. Sure thought I was being a total dumb ars because I couldn't find that switch on the tranny itself. At least I got under the car and cleaned some of the gunk off the bottom not a total waste of time. Thanks for the help!

The comment in the diagram makes it sound like you can't replace the switch, but I know they do sell a separate switch and its darned expensive like $300 dollars. I assume that the switch is under the center counsol? I have to pull it to replace the Ebrake switch anyway so I will take a peak and see what I find.

Loren, I have been looking through the chapter in the servcie manual and I am wondering if I was looking at the wrong wiring harness. I think I was too far towards the front of the car. Anyway the manual describes needing to support the engine with a special tool and also remove the left catalytic converter and left tranny mount before you can get multifunction switch off. does this make sense seems like a heck of a lot of work?

back up lights don't work. The reverse indicator on dash lights up when shifted into reverse but the backup lights don't work and the outside passenger mirror doesn't dip either. I checked the bulbs and the circuit to make sure no wires were broke all checked out fine.
