  1. Safety Device makes the best roll bar or cage other than factory cage. Finished nice with black powder coat, and fit well. Plates have to be welded in and then roll bar is bolted to plates. All for about the same cost as the bolt in factory bar which is mostly cosmetic with little strength.

Little strength???? Strong enough to keep the roof from crushing in the event of a roll over...Not doing the 24 Hour at Le Man here averaging 170 mph.... :drive:

Good enough for some PCA classes. Besides if you are doing any of the serious classes you need a roll cage...A little overkill for 95% street driving , IMO

    see PCA rule appendix A

  2. Not much different results than I stated before.  Unless you are looking to alter the sounds of the car, I wouldn't waste my money on that stuff.

Good point, guess I have been hanging around a turbo board too much lately where the general discussion always points to a new mod of the day... B)

  3. Well that's good to know, since driving at the top end of things with this car is highley illegal...on the street that is...I wonder about the fab max flo mufflers with a free flow BMC filter...Do you think that could provide a beneficial package??? I would like a little more aggressive sound package with a little performance boost....Thanks in advance Viken!!!

  4. Spoke with Fabspeed regarding muffler bypasses for GT3. They told me that they got a doner car in, fabricated the pipes and they are now in production, 2-3 weeks away. They indicated that you can expect a 15hp gain and a 50lb weight reduction by losing the mufflers...Does this sound reasonable, especially the HP gain??? Opinions appreciated. Sounds like the best $500 mod one could do....

Are there any negative affects by reducing exhaust back pressure or is this all good, if you can bare the sound????

  5. Porsche TE Roll Bar Installation Guide

Instructions are rather simple: Remove the rear view mirror. I did not need too. Of course the seats are already out of the car. Slip the roll bar into the car by rotating it on it's side with legs facing toward the rear of the car. The front legs should be oriented on the bottom when doing this. Carefully get it into the car and slowly rotate the bar up and back towards the final position(If you have a sunroof, be very careful. The mechanics under the roof lining are sharp and the roll bar can

  6. I sent you a private email with the slider trim removal instructions.

Ohhh, you must of sent it to my real email address at home, not a Private Message. I will check my mail when I am home.

I am assuming it's my email address I used to register with for this forum???Thanks again Loren!!!

  7. Thanks Karl...Did not have too much trouble getting it into the car...I can bolt in the front legs down by the rocker panel. The problem is when I do that, I can't roll the back legs into position since the seat belt adjustment slider units stick too far out from the upper pillar. If I knew how to remove the adjusters temporarily so that I can rotate the bar past them, I will be in business. So my real question is how to remove them. Any idea's. Someone told me that they can be pryed off from the actual slider with a screw driver, but I am unsure. Any idea's Loren??? I understand that you are the DIY guru. Thanks :notworthy:

  8. I am installing a roll bar in my GT3. I have to attach the bars front legs first, but when I do so the roll bar can't rotate past the seatbelt height adjusters attached to the slider(It's just too tight of a squeeze). Is it easy to remove the adjuster unit fom the slider and then put back in once the roll bar has cleared the pillar??? Thanks. The tech equip. rollbar install has been a 4 hour battle so far :cursing:
