    Where is the fuel filter located on a 1999 986 boxter?Is it important to replace it with a oem filter? :renntech:

    I think the door speakers are crossed over on a low frequency (bass) The speakers in the dash are mids,and hi frequency.Turn up your radio a little,and see if you hear bass coming out.Also make sure the fader is adjusted on the radio.

    Thanks!!changing the ignition assembly was a piece of cake..The info on changing the key lock barrel was very helpful..I had everything else figured out ..that was my only obstacle that I couldn't figure out by just looking at it.Thanks again Loren :renntech:

    I have my Ignition switch steering lock assembly out of my car ..How do I remove the key assembly from it to put it in my new assembly.I bought a starter switch originally ,because the car wouldn't shut off when I drove home from work.I changed the switch,and found out the steering lock assembly was the prob.It is on a 99 boxter 986.Can some one please give me som feed back..I have had this car since jan.And I have probably driven it 6 times,because something is always breaking..lol..I am just ready to do more mods,but I can't crank my car :lol: ...thank you for any feed back you can give me..

    I actually saw it on oettle and said to myself why would I order it from Germany when I can do it myself for free :) ..I actually had everything at my house to do it with..It took me about three hours to take everything apart..weld my mods,and reassemble.It wasn't too bad..I was amazed after I cranked the car for the first time..had a permasmile for a little while...lol.I will post a couple of pics very soon..With some instructions....Now I wish I would have taken more photos during the job...

    Ok ...I went for a ride and I was wrong about the codes,and this time there were 4 codes p0131 p0151 p0137 p0157.All 4 sensors now.This is driving me crazy.... :angry: What should I do now?

    P0131 and p0132i think..I cleared the codes already,and haven't gone for a ride again since.I have a 1999 986 .I will go for a ride in a few minutes to make sure those were the codes.If they are diffrent i will post them.Thank you for replying!

    Hi, I changed my front o2's and my maf because I keep getting bank 1 an 2 sensor 1 codes.I can drive about 10 to 15 minutes and I still get the same codes.The o2's are after market not bosch,and the place I bought them from said they can go in the pre cat position or post cat...is this true or do you think the might be post cat o2's or just crap and I should buy 2 new bosch?I am also wondering if my new headers might be causing the prob.I removed those puny little stock ones,and replaced them with performance headers.Could that be the prob?The car runs fine,but the check engine light is driving me crazy.Thank you for your time.... :D

    Well to tell you the truth in higher rpms in 4th or 5th it is very quiet inside of the car, but I can't give too much on the 4th uphill because louisiana is pretty flat...lol.I am only giving my opinion about it being quiet,because I am accustomed to riding in my lotus...very loud inside.Well i will try to make a new video to post driving the car.This time I won't use a cell phone :lol:

    Hi, I just wanted to get some opinions on what I did to my stock muffler to change the sound a little on my boxter.I welded 3/4 stainless pipe from the inlets of the stock boxter muffler to the tailpipe bypassing a little of the flow past the stock muffler straight out of the tailpipe.I also changed the stock headers to high flow performance headers.I posted it on myspace.You will see the pic for the video ..it is a rear shot of a white boxter.Please watch the video,and give me your opinion about the sound.If it sounds bad I am going to replace the muffler.Just to warn you the video quality is terrible,because I used my cellphone...lol.You wont hear the rev until the end of the vid..it is about 42 seconds long.The url is www.myspace.com/bobby976 ...Thank you for your time everyone.. :) :renntech:

    I am getting codes p0131 p0151 p1130 p1128 p1124 p1126 on my 99 boxter..do you think it is the bank 1 sensor 1 or could my maf sensor be bad and causing all of the codes.Before i was getting bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1 codes.i cleaned my maf now all of the problems point to bank 1 sensor one...right?By the way bank 1 is the passenger side right?Thanks for your help
