  1. My problem is similar to this I have checked the fuses are ok Handbrake micro switch and dash light both working Windows drop when the roof latch is release Roof open light stays on for a few seconds and then goes out No response at all when the roof down button is pressed The bit in bold I think shows my problem, should this light not remain on until the roof is either fully open or fully closed? Any ideas what to do here? Getting frustrated as the weather has taken a turn for the better and I hate not being able to make use of my car properly Any help is much appreciated
  2. I have a similar problem. Handbrake light is working / windows drop when I release the roof latch but I get nothing when I press the button to lower the hood I have noticed that the roof light on the console comes on when I unlock the roof release but then goes out quickly. Should this not stay on? Any ideas where to start looking?
  3. Try 5428 worked a treat Loren, thank you. nothing worse than driving without music
  4. CDR 22 1999 Boxster 986 4467 SERI X5012153 4998 if anyone can help me i'd really appreciate it
  5. 1st post on the forum so forgive me if someone else has already asked this. I kept finding my car feeling damp after it had rained, it wasn't that bad and I had eliminated all the usual suspects (blocked drains etc) Finally discovered that what was happening was that the water is running off my newly waterproofed roof and is finding it's way in where the 2 rubber window seals meet (at the split where the roof folds, circled red in photo) Looks as if the rubber has shrunk back and the seal isn't completing properly. Can these be glued to keep them in place once stretched back to proper placement or should they be replaced (or mabe a small rubber seal placed between them to form a new seal)?
  6. Unfortunately only Porsche can program the key so that your remote central locking works You can get a new blade cut and transfer the pill to it and the doors will open manually with the key and the car will start but you need to start the car within 15 seconds of opening the door or the alarm will sound
  7. I used this Blaupunkt cable (is it the same one?)on my 986 Boxster, just plugged it straight in and it works. The only 2 problems are the ipod doesn't charge (which doesn't really worry me) and I get a bit of alternator whine between tracks. Would this modification sort any of these issyes?
  8. I have all the wiring in place in my 99 Boxster for the CD multichanger but i was wondering if it had to be the original Porsche one which was fitted? Could I buy a generic one and fit it? My head unit is the standard CDR23
  9. Seems the boot release has a delay on it, key needs to be pressed and held for 3 seconds.....works fine now
  10. I've got a 1999 boxster 986 2.5 and the keys i got with it have 2 remote buttons, one for the doors and the other for the rear boot release. The one for the boot release doesn't work. Is there something wrong with either the key or the boot release mechanism or is it simply a newer key head that's been fitted to the key itself?
