  1. Coincidence...maybe not. I changed the s-belt at 90K. Everthing looked and sounded fine for driving around town. (Even left the engine bay open for 10 miles or so I could check it.) First time on the highway, the waterpump blew within 75 miles. Just shreaded it. Shaft broke free and plastic was destroyed. Belt was fine though ;)
  2. KISS - just use armor all or any other left over rubber/vinyl protectant. Will get all the dust off and no worries about the car no starting afterward. I have 92k miles and the engine now looks show roon clean.
  3. Just happened to me - can't believe it. A little ping/knock on start-up - 15 miles later battery light on - then a thump. Limped home only to find the shaft pulled out of the pump and the s - belt (recently replaced) completely off. Lost a fair amount of coolant - but no prior warning. I need to change the pump - but the scary question is? Did this cause (or will it cause) major engine failure? Any prior evidence?
  4. Quick top removal! I have seen several threads about removing the convertibel top in 10-15 minutes. Taking it off with parts of the frame is ok. Can anybody steer me to that link? I need to replace the back window and I want it professionally sewn.
  5. Some confusion in this thread: - do you take the top off with the frame and then take this to have the window sowed in - or do you take the top off with out the frame Looking for best way for DIY.
  6. Where did you order the plastic? This seems like the best way to go. Also, can you get it tinted - a grey tint might look nice with my black boxster.
