  1. I use a Optima yellow top for 5 years now with good results but not sure of capacity however I do run extra power amp for music and couple of other things, in Phoenix AZ heat is a killer on lead acid batteries usually 2-3 years before I need to replace. The Alt Regulator I installed was from Pelican parts which just gave me one part to choose from.
  2. Thanks so out it comes, but I do run a dry cell battery.
  3. Trickled charged overnight however, does the battery have to be out of car to load test?
  4. Yes, I got lazzzy and do have a trickle charger which it has been on since I got back this morning and now that the car is cool I went to start it to check and it jumped up to 14V again? I was going to check voltage at the battery but multimeter digits started acting up and could not read....go figure. Maybe brushes not seating properly not driving enough etc anybody's guess at this point.
  5. Thanks, I'll try my alternator guy see what he come up with. The reason is my symptoms are the same ones experienced with my Toyota, not showing a 13+ volts at battery with new Alt Regulator when running and draining battery when car not used and ended up replacing the bridge and solved problem. My Pcar has sat for a month and the battery was dead and when I got it started it registered close to 14v, but when I got on the freeway it registered 12v and I had replaced the "alt regulator" about 6 month's ago with very little miles put on in that time. I am going to take the Alt to O'rielly auto parts and have them check it which "I believe" they can tell me if it is the REG or Bridge so I am just being prepared.
  6. I have a 2000 996 manual and am wondering if they make a "rectifier bridge" replacement or if it can be replaced at all for the alternator, if so what is the PN#. I have replaced the regulator so I know they produce a replacement for it.
  7. Nope... I run 15-50w ... Phx heat is extreme: Example, I stopped at a stop light couple years ago at an intersection and it was 145 degree's F at that spot.
  8. MAF oem http://www.autohausaz.com/search/product.aspx?sid=riugqanlkwjjyu45y55m5c45&makeid=800019@Porsche&modelid=1364363@911%20%28996%29&year=2000&cid=22@Fuel%20%26%20Air%20System&gid=5068@Air%20Mass%20Sensor
  9. Hah! You should have known I would be lurking and yes I gave you time to edit!! All in fun.and yes still trying to get mine tuned!! ha!
  10. A little clarification...VF SC kits have been implemented for over 10 years with great results on stock engines and emissions are dependent of individual states.
  11. Found it sorry for the bother. bore and stroke of 96mm x 78mm
  12. I have a 2000 996 3.4 ltr and was wondering what the Bore and Stoke was in MM on this engine please if anyone can fill in my mistakes or on the data needed to check this HP Converter much appreciated. Kinda fun however I need to find out the "Bore and Stroke" in MM to figure out my timing with a Supercharged engine.
  13. No it is not but easy enough to send if you wish to try it zip file below. I have not gotten it to work yet. You can however import your data into it if you wish. With the spreadsheet open try on menu bar excel tools-options-under security button choose macro security and pick lowest setting to allow the active x buttons to work then you can work with importing your durametric data etc my run.zip
  14. Has anyone seen a excel spreadsheet xls that can draw graphs using Durametric software data for tq/hp/afr, Brockway uses there or odb2 port to take even it think NB O2 sensors and figure out what your afr is etc with out wideband sensors on a gauge etc. The only one I have found in .ZIP form that maybe can do it by importing excel data but have not got it to work as of yet. Need a way to show this data like a dyno graph, trying to find out what issues are causing these 5000k issues on my graphs. Log file Interpolation ver3p7c Jan08.zip
  15. Nice work and nice to see a follow up on a project, Now get to writing the flash for tuning.
  16. My car (2000 996 manual) goes in for dyno testing using a Mustang Dyno and need to take O2 readings and was wondering if my cats have an extra hole in the pipe for a wideband sensor that can be used. I think I recall seeing a plug in one of them awhile back.
  17. Sometimes it takes the "Planets to Align" to find a problem good job sticking with it.
  18. Waiting on new SC pulley belt which just found out today was lost by post office however will let you know when I get results. I have some original excel Durametric spread sheets to use as comparison.
  19. Follow-up: Sensor connected via above diagram and works good tested with Duramatric scanner and hair dryer.
  20. Installed today just the sensor but gives idea of location please pardon phone pics.
  21. mec0t0 Got it and thanks for the everyone's help "Many hands make light work". The wire colors are different, however the above schematic MAF color codes are correct for a 2000 996 and knowing that the ground "is" taken from the MAF connector ground wire. :)
