  1. I traded a 2012 PTT, black with madeira red leather interior. No launch control events because the car does not have sport chrono; don't need it with the TT. Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota has it. 37,500. miles CPO. Perfect condition. They are asking $67,900.
  2. Never heard or read anything like you describe. I bought a new 2010 Pana S and traded it for a new 2012 Pana Turbo. I have driven 50,000 combined miles and only one minor issue, a coolant return line connector got loose in the Turbo at 24,000 miles. Go for it, they are fantastic cars. The issue you mention sounds like the early 2014 991 GT3s . The bolts holding the connecting rods to the crankshaft failed in two cars in Europe and they burned up. Production was halted in Feb. 2014. 130 cars in the US were recalled and the engines replaced. Most of these 130 US owners did not see their cars for 8+ months. My GT 3 was on the line and stopped in Feb. I did not receive it until 10/8. It was worth waiting for.

    My new GT3

After 500 miles I went to 7500 routinely. After 750 miles hit 9K a few times. Since 1000 miles I go as high as conditions, traffic etc. allow.. Master techs and others in the know say I have been too cautious.

    My new GT3

A beauty, enjoy. Mine is a month old now; 1400 miles and several trips to 9K. The sound and whiplash in PDK-S manual between 7.5K-9K is a whole new world.
  5. A question for the engineers , why are the PTT calipers in exactly the opposite location, front vs. rear than my 991 GT 3 or any 991 for that matter?
  6. The PSE was checked out by the shop foreman and a master tech . today at Suncoast Porsche. The system is fine. I did not understand that the GT3 PSE behaves very differently than other 911's due to the high rpm's. The system will open without the button being pushed under rapid acceleration or high rpms.
  7. Just got my new GT 3 last week. Yesterday after about 400 miles the sound with the PSE on got very loud and sounded much different than I had experienced with the car from day 1. The familiar blast upshifting was gone . Sounded like the baffles were not completely closed or open. I read some other sites and learned about the vacuum tubes not being secured. Sure enough I found the rigid tube that connects to the rubber section just before the valve was loose, but only on the right hand side. The left side felt firmly in place. I wiggled it until it felt secure and bingo all is well. I am bringing it in to the dealer to secure it tomorrow.
  8. Is the color of the paint on the rims and slats of the wheels meteor or slate grey?
  9. I removed the Carrera S logo from the rear deck and stupidly forgot to measure the location. I am getting a new logo in the same color as the car. If anyone knows the side to side and height from the bottom of the deck I would appreciate it. Otherwise i'll go to the dealer and measure one on the lot. Thanks
  10. Has anyone had the exhaust tips chromed and if so how much were you charged?
  11. Thanks, i am talking to my dealer and he is clueless re. this issue.
  12. Those who have installed a SAT radio in 997's with NAV, where did you put it? :help:
  13. PCNA advised their dealer network on Feb. 28, 2005 that the sun roof delete option would not be available for US cars for the life of the 997 model; 110 or 120. They said the cost to re-engineer the roof system to meet NHTSA standards would be cost prohibitive given the small number of vehicles involved.
  14. Where do you live? They will be gone on day 1. Just kidding! Enjoy your new 997. The best 911 I have ever owned including my last a 1987 Turbo.
  15. I just had them installed at the dealer . Took 30 min.
  16. Thanks for your help! I'll let you know how it goes when they arrive later this week. I wimped out! I was making zero progress on softening the glue with the dryer and kept thinking about your comment on not melting something. Also got nowhere trying to slide the floss under the top of the sill near the door seal. The dealer is putting them in next Wed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
