  1. I have the same issue, been dealing it with for over a year..let me know what you find out...I think it could be a wire harness issue as those tend to rust out at certain connection points.
  2. The stebro is the biggest P.O.S you could ever by...huge loss of back pressure , and awful sounds..replaced mine after 4 months couldnt bare with the horrible sound and power band issues.
  3. I have the whistling noise when my car is idling, very loud...had me completely lost as to what was the issue..i have very rough idling and loud exhaust note..I really hope this fixes the issue....What was your resolution to this issue, took it to the dealer?..please help
  4. Ive researched this site for days looking for awnsers...ultimateley did not help the dealership found the problem 3 hours in...gas cap with bad O-ring , although i still have a very very small engine hesitation now..still much better....more headaches to eventually deal with .
  5. well...noone has replied so I decided to take the car to the dealership...after all the trouble of doing my own diagnostics it ended up being that the gas cap O-ring was severly rotted out and letting gasses into the evap system so that caused the loss of acceleration. As well some hose fittings were changed to tighter ones as they lost the tight seal they originally had. I still have the cat effeciency code..guessing its genuinely a cat issue and need to replace it.
  6. I have a 2001 porsche boxster S- with 76K miles- at first I got codes p1128 and p1130...I went to the dealership and they told me that the MAF could be bad..I said no problem, so I went and purchased a brand new one and replaced it...the car worked great for about 3 days then I got a serious drop in acceleration in all gears, I'll press the gas pedal down all the way and it will only speed up much later or when the pedal is on the floor as well there is louder ticking sounds in the engine bay and the exhaust note is much louder it sounds bad. The new codes that come up now are p0442 and p0430( leak in the evap) & (cat efficiency below thresh hold) I cleared the codes and same ones came up again. I would assume its the MAF , but the code no longer comes up...what can it be..I am so lost..I will be taking it to the dealership if no solution is possible. Can an evap leak or bad cat cause all these issues? I have an actron so if anyone wants graph print outs or sensor values..please let me know. Thanks!! mrgylex@gmail.com
  7. Hi, I am having issues with my car , it is not accelerating properly. I changed the MAF and cleaned the filter but still having weird acceleration. I will attempt the throttle body. the car has 80,000 miles and the fuel filter has not been changed, could that be a reason?..where is the fuel filter? is it easy to replace? Thanks!, Alex Flores
  8. No relays. Fuses for the power windows on a MY99 are B6 (15 amp), C3 (15 amp) , and D1 (30 amp). Check those again, or install new fuses there. Also, since the car has been parked outside for a few months (even though it was under a cover), is it possible that some water got into the cabin and affected the central alarm control module under the driver's seat? Check to see if the carpet is wet in that area. Regards, Maurice. I think I have this issue, I had my car stored at a repair facility for a couple of months, apparantly water got in and they had to dry it out, but my passenger window will not move up or down and I hear no motor sounds, although my driver window does work, as well my lights dont blink when I lock the car and unlock it...is this due to the alarm control module getting wet, and if it is what can I do to solve this?
  9. You should be able to get between $1000 to $1500 for your core who is willing to buy these cores. I have my 3.2 boxster core laying around.
  10. Thank you for all the info and help, been a lifesaver especially whith the DIY pdf's

  11. Hey Todd, I have been wanting to upgrade my 2001 porsche boxster S engine to a 996 but have been overwhelmed with the amount of work and mechanics telling me it is difficult and costly, Thanks to you, and learning all this information- I am moving forwards and have ordered a 1999 996 engine for install into my boxster, I am going to be donating to this site for sure. My question is, can you further explain how the DME is reprogrammed on the boxster and if its something my porsche shop can handle. What will I need, is it possible if i can send you out my dme and codes for a reprogram? The shop that has my car is very interested in setting something up with you as they work on many porsches. Is there an alternative to the intake problem not fitting besides buying the evo intake setup?
