  1. Well, I delivered my car to the shop yesterday and it will be ready tomorrow. Here's what it looked like when I dropped it off. I will post the new pictures this week.
  2. I am in Toronto Canada. I did some research and looked at some of their work. They will take the top off, double stitch the window in and readjust when it is installed. The top and headliner are perfect. They quoted me $750 and 2 days in the shop. I'm going to get it done within the next couple of weeks. I will supply before and after pictures.
  3. I have a 2001 Carrera Cab and I am having the rear plastic window replaced and double stitched in place. My choices of plastic are clear, light greenish tint or a dark black tint. Does anyone have expeience with a dark tint. It is my early preference and my concern would be at night backing up. Please comment with experiences.
  4. I have a 2001 911 cab (tiptronic) and it runs beautifully with 55,000 miles on it. It does seem to idle a bit low, but the problem is that if I start it after it being off for only a few minutes, it starts immediately but stalls if I don't hold the gas slightly. Should I bump the idle slightly and if so, where is the adjustment?
  5. Have a look in your Owners Manual - it lists with and without filter. 7.8 liters but always double check with the display in the cluster. Thanks, I'll check the "on-line manual.
  6. I have just purchased my 2001 911 Cab and had the inspections completed and an oil change while it was up on the lift. I noticed a slight oil leak while it sits in my garage. It is coming from the oil pan gasket. I have read a number of posts and find that it is a simple fix. Drain the oil, remove the bolts, clean and apply proper silicone, torque bolts and refill oil. Since it has only a few miles since the change, I don't plan to change the filter. How much oil should I purchase and use to fill?
  7. Loen, Thanks for your help. I contacted Becker North America at 201-773-0978 and they instantly gave me my code for $20 VISA. It works! Where can I get the CD for the Nav system?
  8. Loren, I have a 2001 Carrera 911 Cab. ser#WP0CA299X1S650192. It has a Traffic Pro Nav, ser#15000138. My dealer says it is a U.S. car and that I need to get the code from a U.S. dealer. I am in Canada. Can you help? They had a code 8272 but my radio only has numbers up to #7 (no #8). Thanks in advance.... Peter
  9. Loren, Sounds like you are the Man with the answers. I bought a 2001 911 with a Porsche Traffic Pro and "no code". This is the picture as you have recently seen in another post of mine. I tried turning the radio on and holding the TP button in. Nothing happened, screen still the same as picture, held it for a long time with nothing changing.Any suggestions?
  10. I just picked up a 2001 911 Cab Tip and have a few small problems. While I'm driving awhile, I hear a double chime. This happens every once in a while and no caution lights or gauges out of norm. I don't have a radio code. Where do I get the ser.# and if I need to pull the radio, how? It is a factory Porsche radio. How do I get a duplicate ignition key? Lots of questions, lots of time.
