  1. Hi Rolling the car in the paddock is good advice. Also GT3 ducts are very inexpensive thing to add. Very important is also to brake HARD when braking, and then release when done... (sorry if this is obvious, it just seems like a common place to make mistakes). Feathering the brake pedal and braking lightly but for long time really builds up a lot of heat. I have not researched but maybe it would be quite straight forward to upgrade to 986 S / 996 front brakes. That would also allow to use performance friction brake rotor (they only have it available in 996 carrera front fitment, which is the same as 986 S .. nothing for base boxster unfortunately) which is very good. Cheers, Sami
  2. Hi I have Victor Equipment Turismo on my '00 986 S. 8x18" front and 9.5x18" rear (ie the boxster fitment they offer..) I wouldn't mind a bit more aggressive offset but for the money these are OK. Worth noting it says "made in China" on the back.. but absolutely no problems for normal use and I've been to the track a few times as well. Cheers, Sami
  3. Thanks, all comments do help! .. I might have a chance of trying a local BoxS with "normal" H&R coilovers installed, that would probably give enough insight into whether the RSS' would be too stiff or not (if considering they would be approx 2x the spring rate). Adjustable shocks like with the PSS9's would be for sure better ultimately, as one could change the springs quite easily - like you did .. but I'm personally afraid that the more things I can adjust, the more I can mess it up, so fixed valving is much more straight forward :)
  4. Hi all, I have a weird situation in my hands. I've got a '00 Boxster S with a cool-sounding FVD muffler (installed by previous owner). Now it seems I have won a competition and will get a Remus muffler as a reward. Question, does anybody have any experience with the Remus muffler on 986? Is it any good? Which one should I keep? Resale value of the remus muffler would be probably a lot better, since it would be new-in-box. Plus I really like the FVD muffler.. it's just that who knows if this new one would be even nicer.. argh Thanks for any sympathy ... :D - Sami
  5. Hi, Digging back up this old topic. Anyone have real-world experience with the RSS coilovers yet? Also interested to know what are the spring rates for normal H&R coilover set, versus the RSS version, if anybody knows them.. Thanks!
